I am worried about complacency - the message is that people need to freaking get out and vote en masse and hopefully as early as possible. That message should at this time be every bit as important as protesting cop violence, because if Trump is re-elected the s**t you're seeing now is going to get 10x worse over another term.

So if I am understanding the RNC (and I am not watching it but good god the Twitter headlines) Joe Biden is a far left radical who hates cops and is going to make late term abortions standard across the country? The same Joe Biden who apparently cant speak or think straight according to these geniuses?

And can the media stop with the polling during and right after conventions? It is never friggin accurate. Biden's numbers werent as great as they were after the DNC and Trump's arent as good as they are after whatever the hell this propaganda festival is. I get you all are lazy and wouldnt want to actually have to do work and research but like literally every election of my lifetime has shown the stupid convention bumps and within a couple weeks they all go away. Call me in a month and I might take them more seriously.

(they are fun talking points for us but christ almighty they should know better)
 
As we like to say around these parts during the Pairwise hot season, the only poll that matters is the one on November 3rd. If our team misses the tournament in THAT poll, this country will not survive 4 more years of trump intact. I believe that more with each passing day. While electing Biden is not sufficient, it is absolutely essential. Please everyone, encourage your open minded friends and family to research all the voting options they have and MAKE A PLAN TO VOTE!

And it is your contention that hasnt been the message and that people are getting lazy because Biden is doing well? I have literally seen none of that.

Look I like the Lincoln Project's videos and their hatred of Trump...but never forget they have an agenda and guess who becomes more important if things are getting dire for the good guys? Gotta keep those donations coming in...

I am all for finding ways to keep people engaged but I dont think now is the time to make that argument. People seem plenty ticked off that thousands are dying needlessly of a pandemic because the man is too chickenshit to do what is right, Black People are getting killed by cops on the regular, racial tensions are at the lowest they have been in decades and everything the man says and does is a straight up disaster. Hell his stupid Hitler rally...errr...RNC is doing more to keep people engaged than anything.

The way Trump does things there is no time to get complacent. There is barely time to breathe.

I thank God I dont have any friends that need convincing. Even the people who would go third party are not wasting their time on that nonsense.

Overthink what? Who is getting complacent? Sorry there is no evidence of complacency. I will worry about it when I see any signs of it. YMMV.

If you mean my criticism of the LP...well the enemy of my enemy is my friend. But in the same vein you keep your friends close and your enemies closer. They will flip the script on Biden 2 minutes after the inauguration.

This is no different than the BS we heard about all the Squad Members and how they were facing tough challenges in their primaries. They all won and none of them were even all that close. (Omar was the closest and she won by a nice healthy margin despite her issues)

I am not saying we wont get complacent...but can we deal with that when the country isnt on fire because of Black Men getting killed by cops? Kind of hard to think people are complacent when NBA games are being cancelled over racism and sports are being hampered by a pandemic. For now we are all pretty engaged ;-)

Um, no? Because if we get complacent about the elections, we won’t have a functioning democracy anymore.

And just because some talking heads say Dems are complacent and Trump has untold millions of silent voters doesn't make it true either. ;-)
 
I don't need a talking head to tell me anything I haven't observed myself. I'm not an idiot and I'm not one to be blindly swayed by the media.

I myself am not sensing a lot of excitement for Joe as much as opposition to Trump. Trump has been the most loathsome POTUS this country has ever seen and voting him out should be a freaking slam dunk. Yet I still have a bad feeling about voter turnout and/or the ability to actually cast a vote, the "hidden" pollster, and we know he's going to suppress as much voting and cheat as much as possible to win. This feels like Hillary all over again with respect to the lack of excitement over her nomination. And these idiots rioting in Mpls after a murder suspect shot himself in the head isn't going to help matters.
 
I will say...and I say this in about as serious a tone as I can. We might have hit the tipping point. Things are falling apart almost exponentially now. The whole thing is a powder keg and everyone is lighting matches.

This is what the GOP wants...chaos and unrest. And stupid people are taking the bait. If there is something we need to be hyper vigilant on it is picking our battles and not cutting off our nose to spite our face. The rioters and looters in Minneapolis have zero justification for their actions. This is just anarchy...there was no injustice until they decided to act out for no reason. There is no two ways about it.

We need to fight, but we also need to win. Indiscriminate destruction is not the way...all it will do is overshadow the legit actions being taken.

I 100% agree but I take this a step further and fear this will negatively impact November 3rd and not in our favor.
