Best Non-Conference Game

Re: Best Non-Conference Game

To try and clarify, I was thinking what game this year, that is definitely going to happen, is the best non-conference game to attend. Meaning if you could go to any one of the upcoming non-conference games this year for free, one and only one, which would it be. There is definitely some fan bias out there with some of these suggestions but that's alright. For me I love to see the powerhouses of different conferences battling.

In many cases though, especially with the western teams, there are two games involved. Do we get both games, or just one?

Re: Best Non-Conference Game

The opening weekend of the season could be fun when Michigan St visits Mariucci Arena to Play Minnesota. Michigan St kinda thumped the Gophers in a weekend series last year at Munn Arena taking "3 pts". The Gophers will likely be the preseason #1 and looking for some revenge that weekend.

Re: Best Non-Conference Game

Does it really matter who's ranked #1 to start the year?

If I recall correctly, UMD didn't start last season ranked #1. Neither did BC, and they won it all. Not that BC shouldn't start this season at #1. Just that it's arguably the most meaningless ranking of the season.

For me it's always RPI vs. BU, it's always an amazing game regardless of how each respective team is doing. There's also clearly some fan bias for me there, but it happens.

I'm considering going to this season's tilt @BU, but considering I have a NY Rangers sticker on my back window of my car and an RPI license plate frame, I'm not sure I want my car keyed in Bruins territory.
