Bentley University Hockey 2015-2016: The Quest for 60-Minute Hockey

By "mean", are you referring to someone not afraid to hit? WhIle I'm not a fan of goons, I think someone with the ability and willingness to "push people of the puck" in the d-zone is needed.

Good point. I am not a fan of goon hockey either. Kid is clean. Makes the hits when appropriate. My interpretation of mean is very tough and hard to play against in the corners and along the boards. Didnt take any crap around the net and based on PIM numbers pretty smart. Step in the right direction for the program

Saw recruit Andy Chugg this weekend. All tournament Defenseman, kid is the real deal. Big, strong, skilled, elite skater, wicked shot and mean. http://www.proamhockey.com/2011-pre-draft-s11969

So, with a right-hand shot, perhaps Chugg will replace Matt Maher on the second pair, with Billy Eiserman on his left?

And, who will replace Steve Weinstein to Blomquist's left on the first D pair? Alexei Solovyev? or, does Eiserman move up to the first D pair, opening up his spot on the second pair? But, I think not putting two freshmen on the same D pairing makes more sense.

That would leave left-handed shots Mike Berry, Kyle O'Brien, and frosh Tanner Jago to complete on the left side, with Chris Buchanan and Charlie Donners competing for ice time on the right side. Looks like some healthy competition coming up on the blue line for Bentley.

And, on November 28th the Eiserman brothers will be facing one another in Durham.

Yeah, good problems to have. Also, I found it interesting that Chugg played some forward in the prelim games and had a few points. Only to go on to be named all tournament when he played D in the crunch games. Nice versatility. Incidentally, Jago is still playing well in the RBC cup with a pretty competitive Portage team.

RPI paying a visit to the JAR on 11/20.

The JAR may need to break open a fresh box of urinal cakes this season.

Will need a huge increase in attendance to require that. But, in all seriousness, pretty incredible if both RPI and NU show up at the JAR this season, as both teams will be looking to pay back the Falcons for humiliating losses.

And, Holy Cross just playing two games against us this season, apparently both at the JAR on December 11th and 12th.

RPI blog Without a Peer post about Bentley http://www.withoutapeer.com/2015/06/know-your-enemy-bentley.html.

I have no connection with WaP besides for being a reader.

Good overall assessment of the RPI-Bentley series (3-3), by far Bentley's best record against an OOC opponent. Bentley's implosion at the end of last season is becoming sadly the norm. Looking forward to the Engineers' visit, which will be about a month into Bentley's season. I think that Bentley will once again have a strong first half of the season, but their success during the second half will depend on whether they can avoid the injury bug and whatever psychological barriers they seem to encounter year after year.

There is rumor on the schedules thread that Bentley may be heading back to Agganis, besides Lake Whitt, during Thanksgiving week.
