Bentley University Hockey 2015-2016: The Quest for 60-Minute Hockey

Not sure that I would want to see our first line broken up. Our depth will improve with full scolies over the next couple of years. Not sure why Chugg is not playing.

I think French would be fine and Gladiuk with be a more prolific goal scorer with a couple of the talented frosh. JMO

Any scoring at all would have been nice against BU; that SOG differential and the 1:34 of 5-3 PP were dreadful. Need to play better O against UNH. Gabe was again fine in net.

Both teams not so impressive on Tues. Was what it was. Mid week before holiday. Bentley needs to put more pucks on net. Falcons will benefit from having 2 solid goalies. D still gets tossed around too much.

Need to post something on the game thread, Ronnieb. Maybe some smack talk? :-)

Most folks around here don't take kindly to people from Mass coming up and trying to instill their way of life in the 'live free or die trying state' so...oh wait!

UNH has been up and down all season so this will be anybody's game!

Classic! I agree, Blazer. I predicted 5-3 in the game thread, but not sure who will win.

Good two games from the Falcons. Back and forth game at UNH that was up for grabs, and a dominant performance vs. AIC. Gabe came up big with the shutout as we couldn't get more than one goal through... despite outplaying AIC for the whole game. No penalties, which is encouraging seeing how many we've taken this year

Actually, Bentley ranks fourth in the SMT category, with under 8 pmg, and AIC second, I think. UNH, the team for which SMT was originated, ranks 12th in SMT a the moment.

But, I agree, great effort all around in the last two games; AIC goalie had to make much tougher stops than Gabe, I thought. And, HEA refs made some bad calls against the Falcons, which led to two UNH PPGs.

Really could use 4 points at Niagara this weekend.

Losses like that (to the #59 team in the country are just unacceptable if we want any shot at winning the conference

Box score not pretty; played from behind the entire game, which is not a recipe for success. Really, really need the split now.

Hey guys,

New user here. I'm a student at Bentley and part of the Top Shelf; I do most of the tweeting for the account. Looking forward to contributing to this thread!
Tough loss last night, I'm still hoping that the boys can put together that mid-season unbeaten streak that they've achieved in the past few years.

Welcome to the thread, ac. Light turnout for the 1-0 win vs AIC on Tuesday, but good to see that the Falcons Nest was intact.

Nice recovery tonight, but that loss last night irks. Need to steal one down the road next. Sweep HC, and all is forgiven.

Anyone know what the game misconduct penalty on NU was for?

Live box read boarding, and I am not sure whether Bentley got even one SOG during that 5 min PP? But, good to salvage the 2 points tonight.

Couldn't see it on the live feed... but the boarding left MacDonald VERY shaken up. Got back to his feet wobbly and couldn't make it back to the bench on his own weight.

What could be the most important two games of the entire season at the JAR this weekend. Holy Cross on a roll, but Falcons need to earn at least a split to slow down the Crusaders and stay relevant in AHC. Hope that MacDonald is ok.

A sweep would be huge going into the break- plus major pairwise points with HC ranked #23. Hopefully Argue is back after the break if not this weekend, even with Gabe's play. I just don't see Jayson giving up 5 goals to both Niagara and UNH. As of now Bentley is looking like a real dark horse in the AHC, could come on strong in the second half of the year if they just find a rhythm.

Would be great if Bentley could have a stronger second half than first half, and carry that momentum into the post-season this year; time for a return to the AHC tourney in Rochester, as it has been too long.

Re: Bentley University Hockey 2015-2016: The Quest for 60-Minute Hockey

That game exemplifies the title of this thread. The first 40 minutes may have been the best I've seen the Falcons play all season, the last 20 rivaled the worst. Disappointing to head into the break under .500, hopefully the boys can put together a strong second half of the season.
