Bemidji State offseason, WCHA, BREC here we come!

Re: Bemidji State offseason, WCHA, BREC here we come!

Don't mean to stall your new thread...just want to say that I followed Wayne State hockey until the program collapsed. And while that was not so fun, it was fun to watch the Beavers program build to a level of national recognition. I'm sure the program will thrive in the new arena. Good luck next season!

Re: Bemidji State offseason, WCHA, BREC here we come!

The CHA is dead, I think it's time for a BSU offseason thread instead of the CHA thread. Go.

Sorry to disappoint you Bemidji fans, but you're coming into a pretty poor conference. I hear they are just like the Big East in college hoops. :(

Re: Bemidji State offseason, WCHA, BREC here we come!

Welcome to the fold Beavers. Looking forward to when I can take my first trip up there to catch a few games.

Huge Wilkinson fan here - no problem. Now State? Not sure 'bout them and Comley   (I went to NMU)

So you're saying the WCHA's top 8 are making the NCAA's next year, and the tourney champ will make the Frozen Four? Great ;) !

Re: Bemidji State offseason, WCHA, BREC here we come!

FYI, the 2010-11 schedule isn't on the BSU website at the moment, so here it is:

11/12-13 Alaska-Anchorage
11/19-20 at Denver

Me too...he was a great coach and a tremendous ambassador for the game.

I have generally been a Comley supporter, but I am starting to waver on that. I like him, but I just don't think he's connecting with the players anymore, and the results are substandard.

Okay, I'm done hijacking your thread...back to beaver talk.

Now that BSU is in the WCHA I heard the Gophers are trying to replace BSU for somebody else.

Welcome Bemidji! I look forward to making the treck up north to see your new building.

PS: Your new goaltender is a sieve  :p

That would make sense for the Gophers, if it happens, hopefully they work it out so BSU and another non-WCHA team simply swap holiday tournaments.

That is what tdon is trying to do. BSU seems to be fine with the change.

Looks like we're going to have to scrounge up a beaver to put on the stick.

Just a tad different than this year's schedule.

Over/under on Read staying for his Sr year?

Re: Bemidji State offseason, WCHA, BREC here we come!

It was sad to see how the season ended, but it is going to be so much fun following them next year!

P.S. Does anyone know if there has been any talk about Naming Rights for the Arena, or is it simply going to be called the BREC?

Engelstad East, Mariucci North or DECC West would all work. :p ;)

Just a tad different than this year's schedule.
Just looking at this past season, and to just look at it from a budgetary standpoint, BSU had 5 bus trips (NMU, UMinn, UND for the holiday tourney, WMU and UNO - plus a single day bus trip to UMD) and 4 flights (UAH, Niagara, RMU and a season ending week-long trip back to UAH and then up to Niagara for the CHA Tourney - and not only that, but '08-'09 had 6 flights and only three bus trips).

Compare that to next year, and 7 bus trips (SCSU, Wisco, Mariucci Classic - if that pans out, UNO, MSUM, MTU, and UND) and only 2 flights (Denver and UAH) for '10-'11.

Quite a bit different. And, maybe we won't have to read articles like this next year either...
