Bemidji State Beavers: Defending the MacNaughton 2017-18

Re: Bemidji State Beavers: Defending the MacNaughton 2017-18

So, I have been thinking, and maybe I am wrong on the details. But with the hockey games being produced by KBSU this season, those are available on cable in Bemidji, doesn't this defeat the purpose of not putting the games on TV so the people will be more inclined to go to the games? They will still be on TV in the local market, aren't those the ones you are looking to try and get more butts in the seats from, not those of us that live a couple of hours away (or more) from the arena?

Still on the fence about whether I will purchase the WCHA.tv product or not.

Re: Bemidji State Beavers: Defending the MacNaughton 2017-18

Games will be tape delayed on KBSU in Bemidji...only live online.

Re: Bemidji State Beavers: Defending the MacNaughton 2017-18

The Men's Roster is up. Some notes from my quick scan, it looks like Carter Struthers got another year of eligibility and Adam Lovick has hung up his skates and is now a Student Assistant Coach. Also, Brett Beauvais has transferred to Robert Morris as a graduate student.

Re: Bemidji State Beavers: Defending the MacNaughton 2017-18

Big Game tonight! I think the beavs will be better overall than we were last year. Maybe not in conf Win-Loss better but overall will be a better team and will see that evident in non conf play over the next couple weekends. I think the WCHA could send 2 teams to the tourney this year with us and Mankato. Probably need to win at least one of the 2 this weekend though. Not off to a great start down 1-0. Virtually nothing on 2 power plays which certainly doesn't help

Getting dominated shotwise through 2 periods. Down 21-9. Tied up at 1-1. A good third period and we can steal one.

Re: Bemidji State Beavers: Defending the MacNaughton 2017-18

What a third period! 3 goals so far in 7:30 on 5 shots.

Re: Bemidji State Beavers: Defending the MacNaughton 2017-18

Great 3rd period lead to a 5-2 win! Great start to the season and already more wins than we had all of last year in the non conf schedule. Great job by the conference overall with wins over the #2, #5, and possibly the #6 depending on how Alaska-SCSU finishes.

Re: Bemidji State Beavers: Defending the MacNaughton 2017-18

The WCHA.tv feed was very good. Choppy at first but it evened out. Quality was pretty much on par with Lakeland from last year. There was some syncing issues with the Beaver Radio feex for audio im the first, but it was spot on in the second and third.

Agreed. Has improved immensely the last couple of years.

Re: Bemidji State Beavers: Defending the MacNaughton 2017-18

Bitzer was incredible tonight. I guess he usually is but even more so than usual. I will gladly take a win and a draw out of a home and home with UMD. The meaningless SO win is nice for team confidence as well. Great start to the non conf beavs!

Up 2-1 on Air Force with about 13 min to play. Well played game again from the Beavers. I think this team is much better than last years. Very disappointed with the Student Section sitting for most of the game. Seem very disinterested tonight. Hope thats not a regular thing or a product of the new seating arrangement. Generally it has gotten better once conference play starts so hopefully it will this year as well. As i'm typing this myles scores a great goal to make it 3-1

Re: Bemidji State Beavers: Defending the MacNaughton 2017-18

And it was mentioned on the pregame that Bitzer now holds the WCHA shutout record with 17.

Re: Bemidji State Beavers: Defending the MacNaughton 2017-18

Another goal. Beautiful backhander by Bauman. Shorthanded and 2nd goal of the game for him. 3 in the third for the beavs. Have been great in 3rd period so far this year with 4 goals last friday and 3 so far tonight. Assuming we hold on I fully expect to be in the USCHO poll this week regardless of what happens tomorrow. Lets get the sweep Beavs!
