BCS 2013-14: This space for rent

Re: BCS 2013-14: This space for rent

Well Spurrier's comment was about this year, and I was talking about this year's ECU team.
With that clarification on what you were talking about, I agree with you on this year's team, assuming they're in the ballpark qualitywise as last year's team (can't say I know who they lost, how recruiting was, etc.). In future years, time will tell.

Re: BCS 2013-14: This space for rent

Steve Spurrier taken out of context.

Look at the headline, then look at the quote. Then do it again. I try to defend the Big Ten as much as anybody but I'm not sure how his quote could be looked at as a diss on the Big Ten. I mean, I'm sure he would never say it's like "playing one of those bottom-feeder SEC schools", but can anyone really argue that ECU is worse than Purdue or Illinois were last year?
Spot on.

Spurrier gives the pot a gentle stir; but the headline writer is the troll here. Omitting the phrase "one of those bottom" totally changes the meaning of the comment. It's nothing more than a tease line that went over the line.

Someone at FSU thought a #AskJameis hashtag was a good idea. It's going as well as you'd expect.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>How do you expect to evade the nations top defenses when you couldn't even evade Publix's? <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/AskJameis?src=hash">#AskJameis</a></p>— NFL Memes (@NFL_Memes) <a href="https://twitter.com/NFL_Memes/statuses/498502035596386304">August 10, 2014</a></blockquote>

Oddly, Jameis hasn't answered a single question posed...

Re: BCS 2013-14: This space for rent

I don't believe anything has progressed with the Davonte Fields case, correct? If he can play I like TCU maybe to push Texas for the #5 spot.

Not sure. Honestly I just pulled up the CBS writer's Big 12 predictions and made my guesses based on what they had. TCU/Texas was one that I had TCU above Texas, but I have a feeling Charlie Strong will turn things around there, unfortunately.

This is news?

According to Beano Cook on ESPN, the odds on favorite to win the Heisman every season is the Notre Dame QB. You remember when Ron Paulus won it twice for ND back in the early 90's?

So Venric Mark, who is truly an elite explosive back, will now transfer from Northwestern.

Additionally, Sr. WR Christian Jones, who led the Wildcats with 54 catches, 668 yards, and 4 TDs, is out for the season due to a knee injury.

A promising bounce back year looks to be much more difficult.
