Re: BCS 2013-14: This space for rent

i still think there should be a playoff and you make the playoffs if you win your conference. maybe have a wc team or two to fill out the 8 teams.

somebody want to cry that northern illinois or ucf sucks. you know what? mizzou shouldn't leave their conference to join everyone else in the sec.

do away with super conferences real fast.

I don't know if it would do away with the super conferences, but I also enjoy this idea. You have some sort of BCS-like formula to determine conference strength. Whatever the top 5 conferences are get automatic spots in the Playoff for their champion. You then pick three wild-cards from some sort of committee, provided that no more than 2 teams from any conference get a shot. Any unbeaten from a non-top 5 conference would get an automatic spot as a wild-card.

How would that look this year?
1. Florida State (ACC) vs. 8. Northern Illinois (WC)
2. Ohio State (B1G) vs. 7. Baylor (WC)
3. Auburn (SEC) vs. 6. Stanford (Pac 12)
4. Alabama (WC) vs. 5. Oklahoma State (Big 12)

I approve.

Re: BCS 2013-14: This space for rent

The fact that they are gonna announce things at 2pm, I highly doubt that this is gonna go anywhere... You don't come out and say when you are going to arrest a suspect... Kinda lets the person know that they have the option to run, ha ha...

Pretty sure they don't have to worry about Jameis Winston going off the grid. In reality, if they are going to charge him, they'll probably tell Winston's lawyer a few hours before hand, so Winston can turn himself in as soon as possible and start the bond process.

Re: BCS 2013-14: This space for rent

Lawyers in the area familiar with this prosecutor (who has been prosecutor since 1985 if I heard correctly) say they expect him to announce that no charges will be filed. They claim that when we calls a presser like this it is always to announce no charges will be filed. They say he will likely go over what evidence was available and why it was not enough to charge. If he was going to charge he would just do it. Whether or not that is what happens we will see. Could be doing things differently simply because of the scope of the story.

Re: BCS 2013-14: This space for rent

I don't quite understand why they wouldn't at least release whether or not charges will be filed right now and then leave the details for the press conference.

Because no one would show up at the press conference and they wouldn't get their 15 minutes of fame.

I don't know about that. I think plenty of reporters would go regardless as they always have questions.

This state attorney is exactly as I would have envisioned for Florida ;)

See, this is why no one takes PAC-12 or the Big Tenlevenve seriously

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) -- A woman charged with killing a fellow Alabama fan after the end of last weekend's Iron Bowl football game was angry that the victim and others didn't seem upset over the Crimson Tide's loss to archrival Auburn, said the sister of the slain woman.

If fans of Michigan State or Oregon capped someone because their team lost, they'd have more gravitas.
