BC vs. BU (January 21st). Anyone care?

Re: BC vs. BU (January 21st). Anyone care?

I heard 12 inches of snow for Friday into Saturday....Anyone else?

Nope. Seems more likely to only be about 6 inches and it will be over by late afternoon Friday. Obviously it can change but the forecasters do not think it will be as bad as you heard. After the storm though, no one is going to want to be outside. It is supposed to get very cold again. Highs in the upper teens, lows in the lower single digits.

Re: BC vs. BU (January 21st). Anyone care?

I'm pretty sure it's two. In fact, yes it is. Once in 06, once in 09. Ironically, neither of those games were close.

Could be three, depending on your definition of win. If win means goals scored by a team, regardless of whose goal on which it was scored.

What game is this referring to?

Re: BC vs. BU (January 21st). Anyone care?

You try too hard.

So conservative... so gutless... BC by 10 with at least four shorties and this time Nicastro actually manages to score on BU instead of messing that up too. (It was Nicastro right?)

More important question, how many nets are shoved into Benedetto or Grav, since one inevitably will be there? My goodness, if he did that at Agganis and it was Benedetto, the roof might have blown off.

If it's the Bill Arnold goal you are referring to (which put BC up 8-3), it was Sean Escobedo. He gets pressured from the corner towards the net and loses control of the puck. Then justs stands there behind the net and watches Arnold fish out the puck and stand there in front of the net, and put it in. I know this was probably addressed already, but does anyone have an explaination for what Escobedo was doing for so long behind the net watching the play?

Re: BC vs. BU (January 21st). Anyone care?

So... who's the designated wrist-slasher on BC nowadays?

Guideline 4.2.b in the Fanboy Handbook:

Any BC player that is in their top 10 in scoring is dirty and dives profusely. Any injury to a BU player, whether in a game vs. BC, another team, or even in practice, can and will be blamed on the "dirty play" of one or more of those 10 aforementioned BC players, or Nate Gerbe, even though he doesn't play college hockey anymore. It is recommended to wait until a BC player scores 2 or more goals vs. BU in a game to declare him a diver and/or dirty.

There you have it.

Re: BC vs. BU (January 21st). Anyone care?

Gotta go with Samuelsson... only cause Boston hates his dad! :D

You know, I've been thinking about this, and besides the T incident, people really haven't had a whole lot to ***** about in regard to Samuelsson ;)

Really, BC doesn't have anyone "gooning" it up on D these days. One thing that makes Dumoulin so good is he doesn't take penalties...only one minor for the season.

As for the designated wrist slasher, has to be either Gibbons or Joe Whitney. Who will take over next year???

Gotta Love J. D. He calls 'em like he sees 'em. A true rarity in these threads.

Re: BC vs. BU (January 21st). Anyone care?

Depends, who is the BU crybaby this year?

Do we have to go straight to that tone? We were all getting along so nicely for a second there.

Not sure if we have a bonafide whiner. Keep an eye on 'ol number 7 in the Scarlet and White though. A bit of a loose cannon.

Re: BC vs. BU (January 21st). Anyone care?

Was looking over the box scores from the first two Comm. Ave Battle games and noticed this from the BU side: the Terriers' rookie skaters (freshmen, Ruikka and Rosen) were a combined minus-19 that weekend. The rest of the team was still bad (minus-8), but that number stood out to me as pretty revealing regarding BU's younger guys in that series.

That and plenty more goodies in the preview I just emailed in, which should be accessible through the link in my sig later tonight. /shameless plug
