BC at NU 10/13/12: the building rivalry renews

Re: BC at NU 10/13/12: the building rivalry renews

Did york go ape**** after that? I'm guessing no...

Re: BC at NU 10/13/12: the building rivalry renews

There was a contact to the head and game misconduct called on the last second of the game on Mullane. Maybe he was upset at that?
There were a few contacts to the head last night. If the coach were to review the first period, he would see a NU d-man land a forearm shot to Billy Arnolds head that nearly knocks him off his feet, with Gravellese ten feet from the play and he swallows the whistle. No biggie, it's the kind of non call BC often doesn't get, but is often called against BC. Sometimes frustration will wind up getting the opposition a retaliation shot. It goes both ways coach... that's hockey.

He's pizzed and has a problem with the ref, fine, take it out on the ref. I didn't see any reason for him to dis York at center ice.

BC. The upper stands in Conte often feel like a 2nd grade field trip.

Oh, so you must have gone to the day after Thanksgiving game at Conte not featuring NU? Or maybe a Sunday afternoon game? Look, I've stayed out of the Matthews debate/argument for the most part, but every Hockey East school has kids at the game. When BC seats 7,884 for hockey, they are gonna have more kids there than other places. I get it, it's more noticeable. But at the same time, the BC crowds have been great the last few years and should continue this year.

Wasn't there a post-game center ice handshake issue with Parker and Cronin during the QF's in '11?

When 450 people show up for your exhibition and 1,200 for your home opener, even on a weeknight, you're not exactly in a position to be making fun of another team's home crowd.

It was a response to a critique about the the crowd at Matthews last night. But yeah, thanks for your "contribution". I'm sure everyone here wanted the opinion of a BU fan.

I've been at Conte the day after Thanksgiving, on Friday and Saturday night and on Sunday afternoon. There have always been a lot of families with younger kids there. I'm not knocking that, its a good thing for the program because more people=revenue. When we have 1500 people at Matthews, I wish the rest of the arena could be filled by families. A BC fan was complaining about the hockey knowledge of some of the NU fans last night and all I'm saying is that there are plenty of uneducated fans at Conte, many of them children.

I was going to chime in with a snappy comeback at you for this debate, but then I saw this post. I rescind my comment before it's even posted, and officially withdraw from this argument. May the internet Gods reward you with ALL OF THE POINTS.

Ah yes another NU has teh bestest fans evah debate!

Especially nice when they averaged 50% capacity last year, but hey they chanted that Milner sucks for 10 minutes in a row!

Re: BC at NU 10/13/12: the building rivalry renews

Did they start a 55 minutes chant when NU took a 1-0 lead???

Ah, nice to finally see some venom after the long, boring summer.

At least we yell and are enthusiastic about our team. Also we don't bring over-sized blankies to our games so there is that too.

Clearly you haven't been to Conte in recent years. The crowds have been great. As for "oversized" blankets, if that's what you take from a game, more power to you. I'm not sure what that has to do with anything though. You've probably seen one, two at most.

Re: BC at NU 10/13/12: the building rivalry renews

It's an epidemic. The oversized blankets are killing the atmosphere at Conte. Why can't they simply bring regular sized blankets?

Re: BC at NU 10/13/12: the building rivalry renews

Speaking of the crowd, how many prostitutes were sitting down in Section 14? What a strange place to be last night. Between the hookers, the grownup fanboy who went down to the railing and had the scrubs sign his authentic jersey, the homecoming king (complete with crown and sash) and his entourage; it was quite a gongshow down there last night.

Re: BC at NU 10/13/12: the building rivalry renews

Ya but did you see anyone with an oversized blanket? Didn't think so...
