Batman Vs Superman, And Oh Yeah, Suicide Squad: Movies Thread

Re: Batman Vs Superman, And Oh Yeah, Suicide Squad: Movies Thread

Ledger's Joker and Nicholson's Joker for me are very tough to top. I would need a rewatch to figure out where I stand on Leto's. I think the level of manipulation that's hinted at for Leto's version is the scariest (made me think of the villain from Jessica Jones), but he doesn't seem as chaotic as Ledger.

Part of what they cut from the movie helped explain the different look of Leto's Joker. Allegedly, he got into some fight where all his front teeth were broken, thus the gold caps. It also affected his smile, aside from his teeth, which is why he the smile tattooed onto his hand. There's a third piece about another tattoo that people were commenting upon, but I don't recall the details.

I liked Leto's Joker but didnt love it. I also think Ledger's Joker is overrated cause in reality he he is not really playing the Joker. (imho much like Bale really wasnt Batman...though that is annother conversation) To date I am not sure anyone has truly nailed the Joker though each performance has been enjoyable in its own way.

I was all ready to hate Leto's Joker, appearance mainly (a grill?!), BUT when he delivered the (paraphrased) "I won't kill you, I'll just hurt you, real.....real....bad." That sold me on the potential. The appearance, given the other characters, fit. It just fit. Ledger's (and Nicholson's) Joker appearance would have been out of place.

Mark Hamill has nailed the Joker's voice and laugh. Reading the comics, I always envisioned his voice to be that way. When I heard Hamill's voice for him the first time I got serious chills.

I think that is universal, even among non-comic fans. It's the recent interpretations that may or may not cause questions.....

I left out Hamill but yes the cartoon universe Joker was about as good as you can get. :)

I saw Jason Bourne...it was ok. It was like half a good movie and half Bourne Film cliches. Had potential but it fell way short.

Lots of good films coming in October...

Hell or High Water was outstanding and I wish it would get more press. I'm not sure I've ever seen a commercial for it. Really pretty cinematography, decent soundtrack, and good performances all around from Bridges, Pine, and Foster.

Don't Breathe was also really good. It gave a nice claustrophobic feeling and had some really creepy moments I did not see coming. It made me want Stephen Lang to be Cable in the next Deadpool even more, though the Avatar sequels somehow get in the way of that because his dead character is supposed to be in all of them.

Re: Batman Vs Superman, And Oh Yeah, Suicide Squad: Movies Thread

I'd be okay with Lang as Cable. But PERLMAN. That's my #1 choice.

George Lucas and Spielberg to put E.T. into the Star Wars universe by adding his species into the prequels, seen during one of the Galactic Senate scenes. E.T. moved stuff moved stuff around with his mind and could communicate with Elliot through his thoughts - his emotions. Does this mean E.T. was a lost Jedi or Sith? He seemed to recognize Yoda when they were supposed to be out Trick-or-Treating.

The Brits review Hacksaw Ridge

At the bottom is The Telegraph's 24 best war movies. How Paths of Glory is not in that list is beyond me. But #1 is definitely #1.

He was already spotted in the earlier movie, during the senate hearings. Your post is a bit unclear.....

And Wattoo has a space pod from 2001 A Space Odyssey for sale in The Phantom Menace.

ET being in TPM was pretty well known (I thought).

Re: Batman Vs Superman, And Oh Yeah, Suicide Squad: Movies Thread

Are you sure it was TPM for some reason I thought it was The Crap of the Clones...not that it matters.
