Basketball 2017

Luka Doncic's commitment to excellence helps ensure his team didn't make the playoffs last year and are sitting on the 8 seed thus far this year.

Kyrie must love playing with him. They played the Celtics the other night, Jaylen Brown toyed with him on offense. Doncic changed his sneakers at half time he had fallen for fakes so much

Caitlin Clark is probably going to at minimum get a look at by an nba team or two. She set the NCAA scoring mark last night by scoring 50 points. She shot 50% from the field.

Well, she’s undoubtedly going #1 to Indiana in the WNBA draft and a trip to Paris later in the summer.

I'm not a big BB fan, but right now I'd just as soon watch her play BB than any athlete play their game. Except college hockey.

She's 6'0" and isn't exactly Muggsy Bogues or Spud Webb for quickness and speed. There's no chance in hell an NBA team takes a look at her.

She could still stay at Iowa another season with the COVID year. And with NIL would make more than the WNBA, but she can always get more endorsements to offset the difference.

I hope she gets to go to Paris but the training camps have all conflicted so far with the college season and if Iowa makes the Final Four she would miss the final camp. If there ever was a player to hold a Laettner spot for it would be her, but it may just not work out.

My thoughts too. Fantastic player but short and downright slow by NBA standards.

I should have added. I left the last half of this conversation with my wife.

I meant look at this summer maybe even get an invite to play a scrimmage. she certainly won't get a contract or anything like that. But there are 30 owners who know the power of hype and advertising. I think one or two will at least ask the questions if only wondering out loud.

She can shoot in the NBA but I doubt she can get open to do it. She got me to watch some womens games though so there is that.

I'm not saying that single game scoring is getting out of hand, but Malachi Flynn got 50 points last night.

If you're wondering "who", he's apparently a point guard on the Pistons whose previous career high was 20 points and who has a career average of a little over 5 points per game.

Meanwhile, the following players never had 50 point games: Kevin Garnett, Magic Johnson, Kawhi Leonard, Chris Paul, Bill Russell, Dr J, Chris Bosh, Steve Nash, Gary Payton, Dwight Howard, Scottie Pippen.

Timberwolves are in MFing first. It's almost impossible for me to comprehend this.

They ended up third. There are 3 really good teams in the West. The wolves because of ending up in 3rd the very last game of the season (could have been first) will have to likely play both of those teams on the road starting next series if they want to win it all.
