Bad Cop, Bad Cop, Whatcha gonna do?

Re: Bad Cop, Bad Cop, Whatcha gonna do?

The Charleston cop? From what we know? Hang him.

The Billings MT cop, that CNN showed? He's alright.

Flagstaff vid/story that CNN is using? Um...........that's why we need to look at everything involved.

Split second decisions are difficult, and NEED to be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.

Cops don't get convicted. Remember that the DA is on the cops' side, so they will put together a pro-cop jury. Pure conflict of interest. Plus, videos of the incident aren't even considered to be valid evidence.

There's a big difference between cop blocking and race baiting. The people who believe cops can do no wrong are all pushing the race baiting aspect in order to divide the country and promote martial law, thinking they'll be safe in the coming conflict, when in all reality, once they're of no further use, they're the first to go.

Re: Bad Cop, Bad Cop, Whatcha gonna do?

I wonder...if we didn't have that video, how many would have believed the cop's version of events? The one he gave before he knew video of the incident existed...

Even with the video, people still believe the cops. Police dramas on TV have brainwashed and pacified the populace.

Re: Bad Cop, Bad Cop, Whatcha gonna do?

Oh you mean like officer in the Ferguson shooting which has been backed up by every bit of evidence so far?

I was thinking more the Staten Island one, where the cop got off despite video showing the use of force was pretty clearly unnecessary.

That's part of it, but if you have him shooting a white blonde girl it would be a different story, too. The videographer is lucky he wasn't seen; we might have had two bodies.

There is not a single person defending the Charleston cop. Even his own police chief is pretty much wiping his hands of the man after viewing the video. The only person on his side is his attorney, and that guy has to be on his side to some extent or another.

You don't read comment threads on other sites too often, do you? There are plenty of "breathe easy don't break the law" comments regarding this. Too bad for them that you could do nothing illegal, the cop gets the wrong idea, and kills you. Happens all the time; it's only getting more exposure because of people having the ability to take videos easier.

Re: Bad Cop, Bad Cop, Whatcha gonna do?

I will.

Stop committing crimes, no matter how petty.
Do what the officer tells you to do. If you are then wrongfully arrested, it'll get sorted out later (and you may even get paid, due to a civil suit!).
Get to know your neighborhood officers and build a relationship with them. This might even start with offering them a cup of coffee on a cold day, or a lemonade on a hot day.
START SNITCHING.

I think that's a pretty basic start.

Isn't weird that we don't have to bribe doctors to get them to do their job? And if a doctor kills a patient, they're still held responsible even if the patient ever ate a doughnut, or smoked a cigarette, or had a drink of alcohol?

Re: Bad Cop, Bad Cop, Whatcha gonna do?

The start snitching idea is absolutely right, but if you are afraid of cops why the hell would you trust them to protect you from those you are snitching on? That may work in Plymouth or Crystal but if you think that is a smart idea in North Minneapolis then you are fooling yourself.

It is as much on the cops to make people trust them as it is on the people to trust them implicitly.

Why should anyone trust them if their first policy is to never trust us?

Re: Bad Cop, Bad Cop, Whatcha gonna do?

It's pretty amazing. My first reaction was, "this can't be real."

If that guy doesn't get Murder 1, we might as well just shut the whole thing down.

Notice how the taser was planted at the cop's feet? They'll use that as the angle of defence, that there was a struggle and the assailant (because the cop's always the victim) tried to grab the weapon and only got the taser.

I'd put money down that the cop gets acquitted on account of self defence.

I don't think this one will go that way. The video makes it too easy to put yourself in the victim's shoes. I would bet he is convicted; it's just a question of whether it will be murder or manslaughter.

He won't get murder one because it's tough to say it was either premeditated or felony murder. He could get murder 2. I bet he pleads to some form of manslaughter.

Would the DA accept a plea? High profile case.

Higher profile than Ferguson, where the DA put on a great defense for the cop before the grand jury and later was found to be helping the guy raise money?
