Bad Cop, Bad Cop, Whatcha gonna do?

Re: Bad Cop, Bad Cop, Whatcha gonna do?

She had a deer in the headlights look. I think her re-election chances took a hit.

EDIT: Baltimore City schools are closed today. Adding fuel to the fire?
I said the exact same thing after Ferguson, where we watched a white mayor and a white police chief stand up there and not have answers to a ton of questions -- What exactly do you want them to say? Is there some magic gameplan for how you handle this type of nonsense when you're in charge? Do you immediately respond, like in Ferguson, and be charged with an overly aggressive approach? Do you "give them space" like in Baltimore and be charged with neglecting your city?

To paraphrase, looters gonna loot. All you can do as a public official is contain the damage and clean up afterwards.

As long as the response does not include indiscriminate lethal rounds fired into crowds, rioting should always be met with an overwhelming response. In the aftermath of the Detroit riots even many leaders in the Black community felt this way and thought the early, measured response shown by the DPD was in error. Los Angeles too learned this lesson during the 1992 riots after the Rodney King verdicts. City leaders cannot care about the potential accusations of "too much force" that may or may not come later. Unfortunately city leaders spend most of their waking moments thinking only of the potential political ramifications of their decisions, and we see what that gets us: conditions that lead to police doing bad things, and then many other people doing bad things in response. But once it gets to the rioting point the only proper thing to do, and the response that usually prevents more destruction and the potential for a lot of tragedy, is an overwhelming police presence. End it quickly then fire and punish those who screwed up.

And I post this as one who is not usually on the side of the police in this thread.

Re: Bad Cop, Bad Cop, Whatcha gonna do?

The only people smiling this morning are those who wanted a distraction from the Gray investigation.

Hopefully they'll prosecute both the looters and the cops who murdered a man in their custody. That would be genuinely blind justice.

Well said. I think the mayor took a lot of heat yesterday because she looked completely overwhelmed and on auto-pilot, with really empty, rote answers. I heard an interview with her this morning and she was more specific and in control.

And the funny thing is, she actually said the only intelligent and fair-minded thing that was said among all the inane pundit chatter and posturing yesterday. As representative of all the people of the city, she has to balance the right of protest, property protection, the fear of escalation if too strong an arm is applied, etc. I'm glad she was actually thinking in those terms -- it's a far cry from knee-jerk apologetics on the left and drooling video game violence fetishism on the right.

They don't want to use the drones with guns on them because it will expose their martial law plan.

Some here want them to say "Get out of the cops way or you will die!" and the other half want to hear "let the rioters riot because they have been oppressed!" The Mayor is being scapegoated because she cant stop a riot that the National Guard would have a hard time stopping in a town that has been on the brink for years...

Having read the last few pages, some of you should take 5 and go back and re read what has been posted. The shame level should be rising out of almost all of you. (some more than others) There is no right and wrong here the whole thing is wrong. Cops killing innocents is wrong, morons rioting destroying any chance at real protesting so they can steal some crap from a CVS is wrong. This city is 1 bad action away from truly going nuclear and people are taking sides like someone is the "better man" here? There is no "better man" it all stinks and the more we argue over this crap the more we ignore the real problems out there.

But by all means...keep misinterpreting what each other are saying so you can nerdrage about it...

Public office is always going to be Catch-22. When you have a policy of regarding citizens as dumb worthless animals and constantly caging them up, of course they're going to riot. The globalist military will soon be playing their hand.

Bingo. The New World Order WANTS sides to be taken, because they can sweep in and imprison everyone. FEMA camps will soon be activated.

Any idea where these camps will be located? I'd like to tip my family and friends off so they can get in line early and score a cell with a window.

If you line the inside of your aluminum foil hat with felt, cotton or any other comfortable fabric, does it reduce the effectiveness of the aluminum?

I have zero problem with anything I said.

Whatever the situation, it doesn't excuse the rioters and looters.

Does your future Mrs. Dude know of your paranoid delusions?

Although the Megyn Kelly quip could be viewed as unfortunate by some...

Re: Bad Cop, Bad Cop, Whatcha gonna do?

Faux did have the Milwaukee County sheriff on this morning though and he made the case that you go all in to stop this before it gets out of hand. Said you win first and then worry about the reactions. Called the rioters subhuman, etc.

He appeared to be black, but I don't know coz I don't see ra... :p

That guy is also dumber than a post and made the national news various times because of it. If he had his way the justice system in this country would resemble something closer to North Korea and Iran.

Been wondering where you've been!

He's Faux's "black guy that supports their narrative." All the better that he's a sheriff.

Weird that he's correct in this instance though.
