With a little under a year to go, the historic B1G Hockey conference is coming. This means the return of the great and historic rivalry of Michigan vs minnesota.

I'm a little ****ed that the B1G Playoffs are going to be the format that they are, but at least it rotates over to JLA every even-numbered year. :cool:

Post your thoughts and opinions on the future conference. I don't really like splitting up the CCHA and losing the ND and MU rivalries but I'm much happier the games against minnesota and wisconsin are coming back like the old days when Michigan was in the WCHA.

The feeling of something new is exciting, even if you aren't a B1G fan.

Leading the series by 11 games is whupping? Don't worry, Michigan will turn the series around just like Red did with the rivalry with state :)

I guess it could be worse... it could be 32% against a D-III play-up who I believe was quoted as "the weakest fourth team in GLI history".

So who is in the Leaders division and who in the Legends? They are naturally paired up MN and UW, the Michigans and Penn and OSU so which pairing will be split up?

I am pretty unhappy about it for obvious reasons. Playing Minny and Wisky more is about the only positive. Penn State will be interesting until they are decent, whenever that may be.

I am pretty bummed the CCHA and WCHA are breaking apart. I thought things were great the way they were.

I am excited about seeing Minnesota and Wisconsin in columbus every year but i am also sad to see BG and Miami along with the other teams go away.

But Red will not be here in the years to come. We will see what happens when he leaves.

Hard to keep track of all the tinpot* programs, especially now that there will be like, 53 of them. :p




* Looked in my thesaurus for "inferior" and this caught my eye. A close second was rinky-dink.

Nebraska has a press conference at noon regarding the "Future of Nebraska athletics."

Now, UNL already said they aren't interested in a team, but their basketball arena is already under construction so this announcement can't be about that.

One can dream, right?

That would be cool. It's only a matter of time for Nebraska IMO.
