Attendance at Regionals

Those at or watching the Regionals, if you could post your "guesstimates" as to how many are at each of the games this weekend, I am sure many would like to know.

Re: Attendance at Regionals

Manchester has a very good showing. Appears to be just a few empty seats in the corners. Manchester should do well on Saturday also, no matter who wins the night cap. Full house if it's Lowell/UNH.
I watched the Minny and NoDak games as well... looked like lots of empty seats.

I do not know why the games were so early. Minnesota/Yale game should started at 5:00 ET and North Dakota/ Niagara should started at 9:30 ET.

So the Gophers lost the game because they were forced to play during naptime or something?

Re: Attendance at Regionals

The #1 problem is ridiculous ticket prices and forcing people to buy two day packages. And if you want to attract neutral locals, don't start at 2 pm on friday.

Re: Attendance at Regionals

And if college hockey gets miniscule tv numbers, why are they so concerned with staggering games?

Re: Attendance at Regionals

If tihe NCAA continues to have regional games at neutral sites, attendance is quite predictiable. We've had the Frozen Four at Joe louis Arena a couple of times and, if there is no Michign teams in the event, you
can file a musket off and it will echo like hell. They can't have it both ways.

Re: Attendance at Regionals

Frozen 4's at joe Louis were well attended

Last one was way back in 1990
Lots of Wisconsin fans there

Re: Attendance at Regionals

You're right, that is a possibility. But it doesn't seem to be a likely one.
I think it would have help having some local people attend plus the fanbase would have to take a full day of work off. Example N. Dakota fans could worked a half day or something and flown out. I am guessing most fans did a red eye flight or flew in Thursday.
