Don't you have a limited time you can borrow books on Libby? (I'm a slow reader, so that list appears very long. LOL)I borrowed about 10,000 pages of books from Libby for parental leave for when I need to let baby sleep and it’s my turn or I can’t move.
I want to make it a habit to use my phone less and my brain more over the next several months.
On tap:
Game of thrones - all five books
The Martian
Darkly Dreaming Dexter
Fight Club
The Hobbit
Fellowship of the Rings
Ready Player One
Grant (Chernow)
Extinction (Preston)
Sphere
Cloud Atlas
Three-Body Problem
Stranger in a Strange Land
Hunt for Red Oxtober
Man in the High Castle
I plan on putting kindle in airplane mode.

The "renowned author Dan Brown" of fantasy. My comments for your On tap that I’ve read:
Game of thrones - all five books (ai couldn’t make it through book three. Martin is verbose. His descriptions were overly long for things that just had no payoff. At first, I thought he was writing similarly to Tolkien, but JRRT’s obsession with detail made use of that text either within the same book or within the next book (each of the LotR books are divided into three sections that he titled as Books.)
Yes, but my kindle doesn’t return them if I put it on airplane mode.Don't you have a limited time you can borrow books on Libby? (I'm a slow reader, so that list appears very long. LOL)

The Martian - so much better than the movie.
Darkly Dreaming Dexter - the show follows the first book so very closely. Only small differences that don’t really impact the narrative.
The Hobbit - It’s the shortest of his books that I’ve read, and much less developed in detail than the LotR trilogy That was probably rooted in it being his first published book (pretty certain on that without fact-checking myself) and a much quicker flow for the younger audience that it was intended.
Fellowship of the Rings - Great book, my favorite of the three. You should the whole series if /when you have the chance.
Ready Player One - much better than the movie, largely due to not requiring adherence to IP owned by a movie publisher’s conglomerate structure and movie-pacing requirements.
Man in the High Castle - Decent book, nothing like the TV show except for the overarching theme and some character names.
Oh, I understand now. I missed the logic when you stated that. LOLYes, but my kindle doesn’t return them if I put it on airplane mode.![]()
I listen to audiobooks on Libby- that way I can do chores while I 'read'. I have it set to about 1.25 or 1.5 x speed depending on the length of the book. I've read 44 books since January not counting the hard copy onesYes, but my kindle doesn’t return them if I put it on airplane mode.![]()
