Hot beignets and chicory on the plaza across the street from the Cabildo, Al Hirt's "Half Fast Walking Club" and the Prime Rib Room of the Royal Orleans Hotel. Oh, and the Sazerac bar in the Roosevelt Hotel.
And who doesn't love New Orleans? The French Quarter. Pat O'Brien's. A frosty, thirst-cooling Hurricane. Oh, wait.

Diane was my badminton teacher. We had many close matches. I got an "A" on the written exam.

That doesn't make him a monster, but it certainly calls into question his judgment and his impulse-control.
He was a huge fan-favorite for the Maine job, and he certainly seemed to want that gig; yet, it's not so surprising that Maine passed on him, now that I think about it.
(Eg: the very first time he made a mis-step, the wolves would be at the door... And as Hoosier stated, that sh*t won't flush at a publicly-funded school, with an entire State to answer to.)

Hey 78, If a player is playing for a minor league team--let's call it Team X--and is summoned to report to the New York Islanders, technically speaking, I don't think that qualifies as being called "up." At best, I think it would be categorized as a lateral move.

1. The incident occurred 7 years before the Denver and Maine jobs were available.
2. He faced the issue publicly and admitted his mistake.
3. There has been no repeat occurrence
4. Why not accept the fact that he learned his lesson?
Next, DU hired Monty before Maine had even started their search.
( I dare say many, if not most, of us have gotten behind the wheel "legally intoxicated" at sometime during our lives. If fortunate we didn't get arrested, cause an accident, and injure or kill someone. And we don't do it anymore.)

Does not seem like a fun situation to step into as a new coach. Goalie graduating, no scoring, lost Olofsson... Makes even a .500 DU gig seem plush.
With the exception of the weekend when we were getting swept by them, for most of the year, when we were in a rut, we could at least look to the south and feel better about our predicament. Though for the sake of the conference, it's too bad to see a program struggling like that. If it were the Fighting North Dakotas on the other hand, I'd be plenty happy for the slump to continue for decades upon decades...
