Re: All Things Denver XXXVII

Very good weekend for the Pios. I'll take going on the road and getting 4 of 6 points anytime. DU is second in the NCHC 2 points behind SCSU and tied with UND and UNO and 1 point ahead of WMU. Folks we have a tight race in the NCHC. Huge weekend coming up with UND coming to Magness. DU need to get 4 to 6 points again. Hopefully they sweep the former Fighting Sioux.

You had a good weekend, too! Coming from behind twice to tie up a game the Bulldogs wanted and needed was impressive. I'm confident the Pioneers will have their chin straps buckled because for sure the Sioux will.

Tweet from spy(RWD) in Duluth:
"I am glad to see the DU national anthem tradition has remained, although one guy was not standing still."
Uh-oh! Could this be considered "not doing the right thing"? We need to watch for this indiscretion or see who's suspended next weekend against the formerly known as (fka) .

Unfortunately fka fans have a habit of indiscretion when it comes to the anthem, replacing brave with fka; "...and the home of the fka". If this defilement occurs a 2 min, bench penalty should be called on each sioux, oops fka fan in attendance. :p

is it wrong that i am happy CC sucks so badly this year? Where is Randy May? Where's Ron Mexico?? CC has been awesome since like 1995, it's about time they really sucked again!!! I'm so happy!!!

After posting several times on the blog using my name, "Ron Mexico" this fall began posting as "Albatross," presumably a DU fan. But a highly critical DU fan. As you would expect, he greatly overplayed his hand, and it quickly became obvious that we were dealing with a severe hebephrenic. Now that DG has shut down the blog, I'd imagine underage children everywhere are at risk. Schadenfreude that the Tiggers suck is perfectly acceptable.

No, No, a thousand times NO!

Re: All Things Denver XXXVII

It's time for The Sammee Award
Brittain wins the award for the 5th time this season!

Quentin Shore was nominated for Offensive Player of the Week for his 2 key goals against Duluth.

Re: All Things Denver XXXVII

CC is SO bad this year! At one point earlier in the season they were getting outscored as a team by Greg Carey of St. Lawrence alone.

But I'd gladly trade it out for the Fighting North Dakotas to be terrible. Really hoping to send the green-wearing wannabe Denverites home sad this weekend.

Re: All Things Denver XXXVII

#1 star for Florida
Drew Shore with 2 shots--2 goals and +2

Forida wins 5-1 over the Pens

Re: All Things Denver XXXVII

Okay, so because this is ALL things Denver...

In yesterday's sports section of the Denver Post there is a picture of Keri Herman, who finished in second place in a freeskiing event in Park City, Utah, thereby earning a spot on the U.S. Olympic team headed to Sochi. The caption of the picture identifies Herman as having attended the University of Denver.

Re: All Things Denver XXXVII

UND coming in on an 9 game unbeaten streak but DU will be the biggest test of the streak thus far. Brittain's playing like a man possessed looking at his numbers but I'm just glad Olkinura is no longer there as he seemed to turn into Patrick Roy every time we played the Pios. UND is fully healthy for the first time all year starting with the CC sweep and it's showed in their play. Maybe Magness Arena can put a few Denver fans in the seats for a change! ;)

Re: All Things Denver XXXVII

Will only happen if the Board of Trustees is pro-Boone.

But since they don't seem to be, and the University doesn't seem to value alumni much (with only a handful of large donors making up a disproportionate amount of donations, why would they need to?), I'd say chances are pretty slim.

Sent from the University:

In the coming weeks, University town hall meetings and listening sessions will be scheduled across campus so that you can speak directly with members of the search committee. A search committee mailbox, chancellorsearch@du.edu, is available for you to provide comments and pose questions. In addition, a search committee web page will be created to both solicit input and provide updates on the progress of the search.

Re: All Things Denver XXXVII

DU sent out an email titled "Next Steps in Search for Chancellor". Here's an excerpt:

The committee will be tasked with undertaking an extensive outreach to the entire University community for its thoughts on the challenges facing the University and the attributes needed in a new chancellor. The goal is to recommend a slate of final candidates to the Board of Trustees before the end of the academic year.

Sounds a lot of like the mascot committee. I was shutout before, but I'm really hoping we get a jackalope this time around.

Edit: Darn, BBM beat me to the draw.

At one of those "listening sessions," maybe we could offer up our theories on what happened to Judge Crater and Jimmy Hoffa.

Re: All Things Denver XXXVII

I hope Denver can earn a few points at home this weekend against North Dakota because after this series the team hits the road for seven of its next eight games. That appears to be a portion of the schedule during which the Pioneers can prove themselves to be road warriors or roadkill.

I'm expecting to see lots of NoDak fans in Magness this weekend in what may be the arena's biggest draws this season. I hope some Denver fans will be there as well.
