Re: All Things Denver XXXVI

Huge weekend coming up for (RV #24) DU as they face #12 Miami in Oxford. The boys need to be ready to get some road points. No school to interfere with their preparation. They need to keep the winning roll going after having a week off.

Re: All Things Denver XXXVI

Just a great choice. One member of the DU family leaves and another returns. Terrific hire by Monty.

Re: All Things Denver XXXVI

Carle coming back. ..... that is fantastic news. Montgomery made a smart move. The Fighting Saints and the Gamblers have been the most feared team in the USHL... and now we have two key leaders from both those teams. This is a very very VERY good thing for DU hockey.

Re: All Things Denver XXXVI

With the Pioneers hitting the road to play Miami this weekend it begins a stretch of the season in which Denver plays 14 of 20 games on the road. Let's see how the team does. Here we go.

David Carle coming back is the most exciting news I have heard for a bit. I have tremendous hopes for him here.

Re: All Things Denver XXXVI

Congrats to David Carle and Kudos to Monty for his choice.

BTW-Zucker back to Iowa yesterday.

Re: All Things Denver XXXVI

WJC invitees to pre-tournament camp to be announced this week.
According to Chris Peter's blog commented " Will Butcher, who I believe earned a spot in this camp way back in August, when he was consistently one of Team USA’s best puck-movers...." Listed Quentin Shore in the Other Possibilities group.

Hockey weather is in the eye of the beholder. I used to live in Dallas-Fort Worth and went to Stars' games at Reunion Arena wearing shorts and a tank top. Once we saw temperature 105 at game time :D Just heard Larazza on the Jim Montgomery show tonight. He sounds confident going to Ohio. Zakk says DU can beat Ricco's boys; which I guess any worthwhile competitor should be saying before puck drop. They covered the Coach Carle return and comparing fighting in hockey to the NHL and NCAA.

Another goalie coming to DU next year per Twitter, Tanner Jaillet

Hockey Commitments ‏@hockeycommits 7m
Tanner Jaillet (Fort McMurray Oil Barons, AJHL) has committed to University of Denver for 2014-2015

He has some pretty good stats. He is the #1 goalie on the #1 team in the AJHL. He is ranked #2 in the league behind his back-up in terms of stats and has played more than twice as many games as his back-up.

Bozie injured in last night's loss to Sharks. Left game with an upper body injury. Tough year injury-wise for Bozie.

Butcher and Q on USA WJC Training Camp Roster. Only 3 players will be cut: 1 D and 2 F.

Congrats to Q and Will! Hopefully they both will make the team, but will miss the UMass game in December and the home game against Brown in January. Probably fly to Minny after the games at RPI.

Sorry to hear about Bozie. The Leaf fans haven't been "hating on" him as much as usual since he came back.

Yeah, wouldn't that have been one of the all time great radio shows: "Montgomery can't hold Gwoz' jock, but I'm stuck here. Look at how he screwed up Landon Smith. I'll be looking for any escape hatch as soon as possible. This team sucks. We're going to get our a*ses handed to us in Miami. And by any quality team, for that matter. But I'm really glad they got rid of Boone." :D;)
