Re: All Things Denver--XXXV

As opposed to a tradition for just one of them?:D

Canisius, Niagara, and Brown must each have another game in the neighborhood. CC? AFA?

Canisius and Niagara are in the AHA West pod with Air Force, so they have to play three games. I would assume this is their "third game".

Uh, am I seeing this right? DU plays @ UML on a Tuesday? A week before Christmas? 3 days after playing RPI. Didn't see that one coming. That's really odd. That's the only thing that really sticks out as completely lame to me; other than maybe DU not going to Ralph Englestad.

Re: All Things Denver--XXXV

That old timer, at age 27, Paul Statsny, with 2 goals and 2 assists leads team USA to a victory over Russia and a place in the medal round.

UnitedStatesofHockey has an with Stats and a good review of the game.

Not UML...UMass Amherst.

UPDATE:
Team USA won the Bronze!
Paul Stastny had a goal and an assist in the Bronze Medal Game, 3-2 shoot out win over Finland.
Stastny 8-7-15 Carle and Butler 2 assists each

Stastny, Carle and Butler take the ice in less than an hour at the World Championships.
There's supposed to be a live webcast. And tape delayed on NBCSports. Interview with Stats and links:

Lax Final Four

DU/Cuse
Duke/Cornell

The Noble brothers could face each other in the final game if DU and Cornell win their semis.

Re: All Things Denver--XXXV

Isn't this great? We haven't had too much to cheer about since April 1st. This tremendous come from behind win reminded me of the WCHA playoff game in the Arena against UND ('66). Trailing 4-1 after two. Three in the 3rd and the GWG in OT. And off to the final four. Bonus: the prissy little trolls from UND and CC don't have anything to say on the blog. Probably because tractor pulls and bong-a-thons aren't NC$$ sports (yet).

Today's finish was so exciting I nearly dropped my Crown and 7!

Re: All Things Denver--XXXV

Are there any preliminary plans for a hockey fan/alumni road trip next season? Alaska is on my bucket list; so I'm eyeing that Tournament they're going to. Anyone ever been up there for a game?

I've been to the arena but only for an Alaska Aces game. I would imagine the vibe for a college game would be pretty different. Anchorage is a really good town to visit, though. I would recommend going if you can.

Re: All Things Denver--XXXV

With rumors that $$ was an issue at DU and UConn, Maine becomes a moot case for Gwoz. We don't see it happening.

Re: All Things Denver--XXXV

I have no reason to know anything about it, but if I were Gwoz, given that I'm getting paid by DU this season if I don't find a job, I don't take any job this summer that isn't a pretty perfect situation. Not saying that Maine isn't, because I have no idea what Gwoz wants, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if he doesn't take a job this summer.
