Haven't heard anything. With Malkin now healthy, Beau Bennett has been returned by the Pens to SWB.

That just sucks, but he'll be back...maybe not this year, but next for sure. Hopefully he keeps working hard. DShore has been a great surprise, really hoping he sticks...except that maybe it puts a bug in Q's head. Weirchioch has been really good, being a Habs fan I've watched most of the NE games, and he's been solid....lots of PP time, looking good to stick. I really wish we could have all these guys as seniors/juniors on the pio roster, but good on them for performing well at the highest level.

Beau Bennett back in Pittsburgh today. Did he even play a game in WBS?

Pens needed a roster spot for Malkin when he came back. Bennett was sent down to make a roster spot and Boychuck was put on waivers in which he would have to clear or be claimed by today. Beau called back up when Boychuck was claimed off waivers by Nashville.

Since I'll be joining you in the Pacific time zone, this will probably be the first DU game I've ever watched in my bath robe.

Will they be selling beer since the game starts before noon? :) I guess on sunday morning I will be waking up, drinking coffee, digging out from the blizzard and then trying to get to the game by 11.

Re: All Things Denver--XXXV

Didn't see anything on the DU athletics website or LetsgoDU, but the NCAA ski championships started today. Giant slalom. I just took a quick glance, but looks like our women tied Vermont for 1st, and our men did well after the 1st run. I think they are doing their 2nd run now. Live video http://www.ncaa.com/championship/liveplayer/player?gameId=290782&date=2013/03/06

After the 2nd run, I think the the men finished 7, 8 and 9. If that holds up, I'd call it a good first day for DU. Vermont looked very strong as a team in alpine. But I'm guessing DU's team score will be in about 3rd (or maybe 2nd) after the first day of the championships.

UPDATE: Vermont in 1st, DU in 2nd (16 points behind UVM), and CU in 3rd (35 points behind DU.) Kristine Haugen wins 1st place in the women's GS. Good luck to the cross-country racers tomorrow!

DU in 2nd after Day 1 behind UVM.

Wine-- a little early. Bloody Marys sound appropriate:D

Tequila sunrise, Mimosa. So many choices. So little time. Playing UAA, the big problem is going to be getting that fish smell out of my nostrils. Phew.

DU X-C men finish 13, 16, 36 in today's race, not good. UVM at 7, 20, 29, CU at 1, 18, 21, UAA at 3, 8, 9, Team scores not posted yet.

Women's X-C start at 12 noon EST

Too bad about the ski team's poor day. I'm sure we will do well in slalom, but so will the other teams ahead of us in the standings. So I think it will probably come down to the XC races tomorrow. Based on today's results, I don't see us making up enough points in the 2nd day of XC to stay in the hunt. But I hope I'm wrong!

Dang man. 11am puck drop. I used to think those afternoon Denver Cup consolation games were brutal. That's like pee wee ice time. That place will be a ghost town; oh, and sorry Seawolves - your plane will probably be on a weather delay; or if it's real bad - you're spending the night. Nice. Being such an important game, it's a shame the way the weekend got scheduled. Alot of people are going to miss, what should be a "good" game.
