14 straight 20 win seasons
Yep. Nice work by Monty and his staff in year two of his run. Also super exciting to jet up to #4 in the PWR and be sitting as a potential one seed. Free from the Fargo sentence that had been hanging over our heads in the 8 spot. SCSU in a must win PWR situation tonight. Do or Die. Our boys need to dig down and get that road sweep!

Re: All Things Denver, XXX1X

Have to say that Tanner played well last night. I've been critical of his play (not here) recently. Still scratching my head as to why Monty isn't going with a straight up tandem approach. Statistically they are so very close.

Re: All Things Denver, XXX1X

Here's a post I made on last night's game thread, which I feel bears repeating: ====>Playing at equal strength DU is good enough to beat St.C. Giving the Huskies PP opportunities is a bad idea given the strength of their PP. Stay out of the box, period.<===

In Saint Cloud's last three games [2 versus NoDak in Grand Forks and one at home versus Denver] the Huskies have scored a total of five goals. ALL HAVE COME ON THE POWER PLAY. So I will say it once more: Playing at equal strength DU is good enough to beat St.C. Giving the Huskies PP opportunities is a bad idea given the strength of their PP. Stay out of the box, period.

The Huskies are averaging just over 1 PPG per game [34 on the season thus far]. Stay out of the box, limit PP opportunities and play them at equal strength and the likelihood of winning increases markedly as St.C. has struggled all season to score at equal strength.

Expect Gardena native and former Los Angeles Junior King Beau Bennett to play tonight; the 23-year-old who was Nick Shore’s teammate at the University of Denver has never played at Staples Center and made his Southern California professional debut in last night’s win.

Re: All Things Denver, XXX1X

Leggs out with a leg injury tonight, Hammond in for him. Forwards are the same as last night. Cowley in net.

Re: All Things Denver, XXX1X

FUNNY THING

Cowley has better stats:
Sv%--.922 to .918
GAA--2.16 to 2.39

EXCEPT
Win%--Jaillet .667 to .562 Cowley

Re: All Things Denver, XXX1X

I was surprised the coach left Evan in net after the first period. I kind of assumed he (the Coach) viewed that as thier "throw away" game, and that it more or less indicated that Tanner has the job going in to the playoffs.

Any word on Leggs' injury?

Per last night's broadcast he is probable for this weekend. DU wins NCHC scoring race with Moore being the champ followed by Leggs and Heinen at 2 and 3. Danton tied with Czarnik and Benik. Woot!!!!
