It was really neat to see. The kind of moment that makes you really proud to be a DU fan.

It's more than just uninformed or apathy, I believe.

That was such an intense hockey game and the feeling of loss was so intense at that post-game moment that even I forgot about the Trophy Presentation, until I saw the trophy being rolled out. I'm sure many other fans may have forgotten about it as well. For most people, when you lose a game like that, people tend to head for the exits quickly to get out of the building. I would bet that had DU reminded everyone with a few announcements for people to stick around, the crowd response would have been much different.

The students' energy and excitement was obvious from the get-go last night. Many of them were waiting for an extended time for the doors to open and, once they did, it was even more obvious how into this game they were going to be. The student section was at least 3/4 full for warmups, which is a rarity to say the least.

We had everything going for us: MacNaughton, White Out, Stats and yet we couldn't get the job done. I am so dad-dratted tired of us not being able to hold serve in our own building against these guys, I could, uh, spit. The next reference I read to "World Arena North" or whatever, some small mammal's going to get hurt. Well, I feel marginally better now that I've let that out. It would be nice if we could drill CC tonight.

Yeah, 6-14-4 (or whatever it is) at Magness vs CC is a bit depressing. And weird. And just not right. :confused:

However, it's a bit easier to handle knowing that we are a tourney lock and have home ice for the 1st round, while that other team only wishes they had either.

If injuring a small mammal is still desired, I could offer my services and go *****-slap CCtig for ya... :)

Just rolled in from the Springs. That was a good old fashioned SPANKING. DU puts up a touchdown! DU moved the puck at will and made it look easy. Rhett's goal was sick! What a great turn out by the DU fan base. By far the biggest one I've seen in my five years of following the program.

My two favorite quotes of the night. One from Swami who sat a row behind my daughter and I with Ms. Swami. After the fourth DU goal he stands up and yells "oh, it's a beating now". Second, we stood by the DU exit doors after the game and Gifford and Rhett were the two last players off the ice. Gifford skates up to the door yelling his *** off "Where is the "F" ing Gold Pan..Bring it out here, I want it now!!!!"

Great end to an amazing season! Congrats to the boys and especially the seniors. I know winning the Pan for the first time has been a huge goal for them.

It's been four long, long years since DU has had the Gold Pan, and CC has pretty much owned us ever since the DU 6-2 NCAA semifinal beat-down in Columbus in 2005, so if I shouted anything like that I think it may have been after the fifth goal ;) , it was out of four years of frustration with how CC has basically owned us up until tonight, including Friday night.

It's been a very long time since DU has hung seven on CC in Colorado Springs - I am guessing early to mid 80s, when 9-8 no-defense barnburners were more common in that era.

The goals were piling up so quick, I lost count. :D It was like a black hole at the Tiger Net and Howe in the first was adding extra energy to the vortex. His legs were spread so wide it most of hurt. :D CC ends the regular season below 500 in the conference and in conference games at home. I loved the way DU bounced back from Friday night's lose. They came out with a sick focus. CC looked like they had been hit by turbo powered bus, 10 minutes in.

I don't think the first three goals were Howe's fault. DU was very determined to play well tonight, and the first three goals would have beaten most goalies. Friday, DU's shots ended up wide, and tonight, they wound up in the net.

I appreciate CC playing hard the whole game and not really gooning it up at the end, when a lot of other teams might have taken some frustration shots at DU.

Congrats on winning the Gold Pan back, and of course for winning the MacNaughton. This DU team is downright scary this year, especially with that goaltender who I at one point last year thought was awful.:o

Chevy WAS awful early last year. It's only with extensive coaching and playing time that he's improved so much.

No, the goals weren't his fault. They were created by precision passing. The kind of passing we didn't see too much of at Magness by DU on Friday.

Thanks Tig. It's true and we've been talking about it a lot in the second half. Chevy has taken a good team and made them great. He sees the puck well every **** night. I can say for sure that he has brains and he uses them to make smart decisions. He knows the game--studies it and it has paid off for him. I think he has a legitimate shot at the Hobey.

Denver moves back to #1 in the PWR. Miami has Ohio State next week and will most likely face Michigan State in the finals.
