Re: All things Denver XXVI: From Boonetown to Motown

If DU is able to get up by 4 goals or more on Michigan Tech either night, I could see Murray getting some playing time if Chevy isn't working on a shutout.

That said, DU doesn't usually score more than 3 per night, so I doubt we'd see Murray.

Well we've been going back and forth on the low GPG this year. It has been climbing since Christmas. It think at last check it was at 3.17. I think this weekend--at least one of the two nights the boys will crank it up and run the average up. Tech's GAA is over four and their kill is awful. The way our first line has been clicking it seems highly likely that they'll run the score at least once this weekend.

Enjoy those games PS--that's a hell of an opportunity!

Here's an amusing little ditty...

MTU Hockey:The Road to Detroit starts today. :D

Re: All things Denver XXVI: From Boonetown to Motown

I know it's winter and hockey is king, but DU swimmers are competing in the SBC Championships this week. DU men's team is 4 points out of first at the halfway mark. The women are in 3rd place.

Remember, all everything Blake Worsley, his younger brother, Cole, is swimming for DU. Blake set the SBC record in the 500 freestyle last year,4:14.00. This year's winner was over 8 seconds slower. His 200 freestyle record appears to be safe as the top seed is close to 9 seconds slower.

The women's 200 free relay team tied for 1st place. I guess They weren't prepared to time to the thousandths of a second.

Bump for Dmann who is enjoying the powdery slopes of the Colorado Rockies.

You are correct, it was epic!!! New snow, first tracks on "Forget me not" off of the T-bar and the girls did great!! One thing I had forgotten about was high altitude hang overs:eek:  I'm recovering now and getting pumped for the Tech game!! Wohoo!!!

Re: All things Denver XXVI: From Boonetown to Motown

Men's lacrosse team down 5-2 to Syracuse in the 2nd period. Not a lot of offensive firepower on the team this year.

EDIT: Now 7-2 orange.

EDIT: And now 8-2

EDIT: Denver makes a push to make it respectable...lose 15-9.

Minnesota with their win over CC moves back to being a TUC at #25 for PWR. DU stays at #2 in PWR after their 5-2 win over MTU tonight.

Interesting situation. DU needs Minnesota to win tonight to solidify their TUC situation. Not sure how much a Miami loss to UNO tonight would affect their RPI, but DU only gained two thousandth of a point by beating Tech.

bump!! I'm back baby!!!

Maimi looses and this does not help us?, should we have lost tonight?

I believe we will be #1 in PWR once it is tallied.

Are you back on the east coast?

Here it is DU #1 in PWR

Pairwise

DU does move to number one by a hair. We need to win 2 of the remaining 4 games to clinch first place in the conference. Highly likely we see Olson and Baker back at Magness in three weeks.

Also looks like there will be at least 5 teams in the NCAA tourney from the WCHA which means one bracket will be doubled up. Hope it's not us with the Badgers again at the X.

DU Men's and Women's teams finished second in the Sunbelt Swimmimg and Diving Championships.
Following in his brother's wake, Freshman Cole Worsley won the Men's 200 Freestyle. Senior Cody Stambaugh won both the 1 and 3 meter diving.

Individual Honors:
Men's Diving Coach of the Year - Aaron D'Addario, Denver
Men's Most Outstanding Diver - Cody Stambaugh, Denver

I'm a little more worried about old North Dakota. They really took Duluth to the woodshed this weekend.

DU should face UND in the Final 5. Lets hops the WCHA Play-in game takes some of the starch out of them.
