Re: All Things Denver XXIX

On another note, I forgot to add to my random thoughts from the weekend about the surprise visitor Friday night on the score update thread. About half way through the game, we got a post from a soldier in Afghanistan. He was apparently a Duluth fan and was delighted to find our thread. It kept him up to speed on news about the Bulldogs!! Cool eh?

Re: All Things Denver XXIX

Per Steve Miller in today's press conference - Beau Bennett had an MRI last night and the doctors will read it later today. Keep your fingers crossed that it is nothing serious.

Put me down as very concerned.

Yeah, way cool. He posted a couple of times on Saturday, asking for SOG late in the 3rd. As a bonus, I lectured him on several topics he wasn't aware were of importance to him. ;)

Re: All Things Denver XXIX

Sorry to chime in late, but I forgot to post the following blurb from an email I got from someone at DU yesterday about the acceptance rate issue that we discussed yesterday. FWIW:

"One of the reasons we still have a 70% acceptance rate is that the quality of the applications has increased, so we’re attracting students with higher scores than previously."

Re: All Things Denver XXIX

When does the hockey team break for Christmas? With Murray, Wrenn and Carle at home in Anchorage do they come back for a few days or stay at home for the holidays?

Re: All Things Denver XXIX

In the past its always been after the last game ended. Guys from Canada would fly home directly.

Not sure what the policy this year, but DU does have a midnight flight home after the game.

Re: All Things Denver XXIX

What's the news on Alex Carle? May we assume he will visit with Gwoz/Miller during the Pios road trip?

Re: All Things Denver XXIX

I read today that Gwoz missed a practice due to a cold. Must have been one hell of a cold!

Re: All Things Denver XXIX

Former DU Coach, Murray Armstrong passed away yesterday in his sleep. He will be missed, but certainly never forgotten.

Sad moment in DU hockey history. The Chiefs's has been in fragile health. He had a legendary life.

RIP Murray Armstrong

Re: All Things Denver XXIX

We have lost a legend, but we were fortunate to have him. Almost 95 years! What an amazing life, and what an impact he had on hockey!

Re: All Things Denver XXIX

I started a separate thread for the Chief as he deserves it. Hail to the Chief!!!!!
