Re: ALL THINGS DENVER--XL--This one's for Old Pio
37 days until the Pios face the Pronghorns
DU was 3rd in goals scored last year and is third in returning goal scorers.
Not surprisingly Troy Terry, (22) Henrik Borgstrom (22), Dylan Gambrell (13) and Jarid Lukosevicius (16) lead the Pios in goals scored in 2016-17. Only Will Butcher is missing from the top 5 scorers.
(I think Terry, Borgstrom and Gambrell all missed at least 5 games last year.)
Gambrell with 89 total points and Terry with 67 could be the next members of the Century Club. Could Borgstrom add 57 points and become the 3rd member?
Luko, Colin Staub and Logan O'Connor showed significant improvement from their Freshman season.
- Luko had 32 points last year --only 10 the year bedore
- Staub had 20 points compared to only 9 the year before
- O'Connor had 18 points compared to 4 the previous year
Granted they played more games as sophomores.
Can we expect rising sophomores Liam Finlay (8-11-19), Michael Davies (3-14-17), and Tyson McLellan (5-7-12) to double or even triple these totals?
Borgstrom had 43 points in his freshman campaign. What can he do this year?
LetsGoDU and MagnessMayhem are addressing incoming freshmen. Replacing 9 or 10 seniors, Class of '17, the newbies will need to step in and step up for a 9th National Championship banner to hang at Magness.
