Shawnigan Lake’s bantam team is only 2-4-2. But it boasts blue-liner Jacson Alexander, the Island’s top 2016 WHL bantam draft prospect, and the most touted since defenceman Josh Anderson of Duncan went third overall in the 2013 first round to the Prince George Cougars. Alexander played for Racquet Club last season as a 14-year-old before switching to Shawnigan Lake School this season. Well I guess a split between #s 1 and 2 should be expected.

McAvoy and Kunin are captains, so you know they’re already on the team. It appears safe to assume the same for Jones and maybe Greenway. However, I don’t believe this scratch bodes well for Troy Terry, who is currently leading the University of Denver in scoring this season.
While it’s merely speculation, Terry appeared to be a bubble candidate and was hard for me to figure out where he fit. He certainly has the ability to play for this team, but it’s a tough forward group to crack. We’ll have to see what happens with him when cuts are revealed.

Dear Santa,
I've been good or at least tried to be good this year and I hope you will bring me some really good stuff.

  • A shutout or two for Tanner Jaillet
  • A better Pio Power Play--would 19% effectiveness be asking too much.
  • The team getting the goals per game up to at least 3.0
  • A truly successful trip to the Frozen Four, you know what that means.(wink wink) #8. If you're feeling generous, #24, #2, and #1 would be appreciated for Skiing, Men's Lacrosse, and Men's Soccer would also be G-R=E=A=T!

Hope you have a safe trip tomorrow night and find peace on earth.

Emilio Pettersen, currently age 16 and playing for the Omaha Lancers of the USHL, is penciled in for 2018-19 season.

Chris Peters of the United States of Hockey.com reporting on the WJC ^ players who impressed in Team USA's 6-1 victory over Latvia.
Troy Terry*(ANA):*Terry very quietly had a nice game. He ended up with two assists and I thought he was one of the players that was able to establish some pace at various points in the game. Terry got some power-play time and also showed some of the versatility that got him on this roster.

Chris does a great job of reporting on the WJC and just started working for NCAA.com. He's a good follow/like for hockey news.
