Re: All-Americans Watch 2013
I've said it before......once you raise the bar, people just expect it and the ones who seem to get the accolades are the ones who didn't have as high of expectations and/or exceeded what was expected of them.
Jacobson's numbers were the best in the West again this year...period...and only slightly below his UNBELIEVABLE season last year.
I figured Stephenson was a sure thing, and rightly so since he had his best season ever, was already the conference POY, the team has had their best season ever, and he came up huge in the wins over SNC.
I congratulate Soley on his great season, and I mean no disrespect, but.....while he was certainly the MVP for his team, I just don't agree he deserved the nod for AA over Jake.
Unfortunately, I think perception gets weighted by the "what have you done lately" mentality.
It also appears to be based more on MVP rationale as well, noting that neither Chris Czarnota from Norwich or Andrew Hare from Oswego made the list in the East, despite having very good individual stats, and ahead of two of the AA selections.
Don't worry Jake, the fans at SNC already KNOW you're All American quality and wouldn't trade you for anyone.
