I knew I'd flown into Fairbanks when we passed a trailer court, right before landing.
True, however have you noticed right behind the "Welcome to Anchorage" sign is the city jail?Driving to ANC is a lot less entertaining with the Adults Only emporium closed.

Was looking at the schedule today and noticed we are playing Mankato at the Patty Center in October. Presumably because the Carlson Center is booked for AFN, but still thought it was interesting.
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times (to paraphrase Melania Trump).
Maybe more students will go to that game, but then again, that may limit season ticket holders or other fans. Could get loud in there…but not really problem. The Patty sound system is equivalent to a 1950’s transistor radio.
Wonder if they checked the availability of the Dipper. Probably cost money, but they might attract some Ice Dog fans, or get enough butts in seats to at least cover the facility rental. Overall, the Patty practice facility provides a very poor experience for viewing a Nook hockey game.
It’s only October so probably barely below zero, maybe we could make this an outdoor game. It seems to be all the rage. Double down by putting it on a Pokemon Go map (or whatever you do).

Interesting indeed. How many does it hold? Can you get all of your season ticket holders in there?
Perhaps we are just doing our part to make Mankato extra sure of their departure to the Nacho by forcing them to play at our practice rink.
If it helps, I doubt playing at the Patty changes their opinion of having to travel to Fairbanks at all.
The University of Alaska's report on single accreditation is now online here: http://alaska.edu/files/research/Ac...editation-Review-Final-Report-15_D.Thomas.pdf
Definitely worth a read. Cliff notes version: single accreditation is a lousy idea and everybody who doesn't have a Rep. or Sen. preceding their name is against it.
There is a report on athletics included; it stops short of recommending no changes but seems to strongly infer that discontinuing any athletic programs at UAF or UAA would have some long term and negative consequences for the University.

I don't mean this in a mean spirited way, but we all know support for Nanook hockey has really dwindled over the years, much as it has for UAA. Does rifle really have a "huge" following in Fairbanks?Regionally, hockey and rifle have a huge following in Fairbanks.
Thanks for the link. One statement really baffled me, however. I don't mean this in a mean spirited way, but we all know support for Nanook hockey has really dwindled over the years, much as it has for UAA. Does rifle really have a "huge" following in Fairbanks?
