In football Rice leading UTEP 17-3 in the 3rd.
People are frequently surprised the smallest school in big time football has a 70,000 seat stadium. Great sightlines. And, perhaps most important, great grub in the press box. They specialize in brownies that are utterly sinful. Spent many a happy Saturday afternoon watching Owl football. During one memorable game with A&M, Rice's Sammy the Owl mascot spent the afternoon dragging a stuffed border collie around the stadium, bumping it into goal posts, etc. The Hitler Jugend from College Station were not amused. That game also marked the only time I've ever seen anybody thrown out of a press box for cheering. Naturally, a member of the Hitler Jugend in full uniform.
