komey1 picked up 6 points last night after correctly calling the 2 ties! CornwallAce also called the Niagara/Canisius tie.

I picked all ties, except RIT over Canisius because I hate Canisius...

With that said, 4 other people have made picks, and there is only one other tie picked.

Meanwhile, eastern teams have locked up the top two slots in the AHC regular season; did anyone here see that coming? I certainly did not.

Well I did so that makes me champion as seeing that gets you team bonus points! If not for the bonus points, I wonder who might have won on game picks alone?

Downstate_RIT_Fan led the weekend with 5 points, but it wasn't enough to catch SweeneyHawksHockey!

Congrats to Sweeney for being the regular season champion of AHA Pick'em!

But, like AHA, everyone makes the playoffs. Rather than make a new thread this year, we can continue in this one. I'll get the first link for post-season pick'em posted shortly.

POST SEASON HOCKEY!!!

Rules for the post season
-Make your picks for the entire weekend before the first puck drop (This is important especially for the championship weekend - we will pick the champion before the two semifinal games)
-Correctly picking the higher seed to win each game is worth 1 point. Correctly picking the lower seed to win each game is 2 points. (This was a recommendation a few years ago to try to encourage picking the "underdog").
-1 bonus point awarded for correctly picking the winner of each first round series (assumed to be the team you have winning at least 2 games), 2 points in the quarterfinals, 3 in the semis, and 4 for the champion. This is independent of the number of games for the 3 game series.
-1 point will be awarded for "backwards splits" - if you pick team A to win Friday and team B to win Saturday, but the opposite happens, you get 1 point. (Obviously this only applies to the best of 3 series.)
-For the 3 game series, you will pick your predicted winner of each game. If you do not think a game 3 will be played, select that. You can pick the same winner for all 3 games if you want (if you don't want to pick a 2 game sweep, but can't decide which game will be lost).
-Remember - there are no ties in the post season!

These rules may be confusing - don't hesitate to ask if you don't understand. Good luck all!

Congratulations Sweeney. Well played!

Onto the playoffs which, given the parity of the teams, will be full of surprises. Who is the healthiest? Which team is playing it’s best hockey? Which teams, regardless of the standings, seem to have other teams numbers? As happy as I am for AIC to win the regular season title I don’t think they will win the AHA championship. But then again, I’m an RIT fan. 😋 Get your playoff picks in and thanks Mar for doing a great job as always.
