Re: AHA Post Season Pick'em

Yes, a poor showing down the stretch from Bentley, which seemed to struggle for goals. They didn't give up a ton of goals per game, but for every game they gave up one, they scored zero; for every game they gave up two goals, they got one.

I do hope Hockey East teams continue scheduling the Falcons early in the season. Kudos to Maine & Northeastern for doing so.

Yes, but with the Falcons upsetting Maine last year, the Black Bears were not going anywhere. But, with the Falcons upsetting UMass this year, when the Pioneers were ranked 8th in the nation, Hockey East teams may give this scheduling a second thought? :D

UMass-Lowell also has scheduled the Falcons in past seasons, but like the NU Huskies have not suffered an upset loss yet. Bentley also tied RPI a couple of years ago, and have beaten Princeton and Brown from the ECAC. I am always hoping that Dick Umile and Marty $carano will schedule the Falcons for a visit to Lake Whitt some year. :)

Re: AHA Post Season Pick'em

In order to get the points do you have to pick the nights correctly? In other words if I picked a split on Friday and Saturday but I had the winning nights wrong is that a bust?

This season, yes. We can consider other scoring methods for the future.

Re: AHA Post Season Pick'em

If the 4 winners from tonight advance to Rochester, the AHA will get the #15 seed in the tourney.
RIT, Sacred Heart, Canisius and Air Force all have higher RPIs that Niagara or UAH.
Not that it matters. Either Denver or Miami will be a tough draw.

Wow. Everything ends in 2, with only one (minor) upset. On to Rochester!

The one thing that would make me prefer Denver over Miami is that Miami should have a real home-game like atmosphere in Ft. Wayne. That's not going to be much of a neutral site for the AHA champ.

The one thing that makes me prefer Denver is that Air Force was tied with them until they got a fluke goal off the back of a defenders pants in OT!

If St. Lawrence can pull off the ECAC tourney, RIT would move up to # 14.
If Brown wins it, any of the four AHA teams would be #14. Both Wisconsin and BC look to pretty much have home ice, too, so it won't help much.

I think Denver's a much better team than Miami. Miami had a pretty easy schedule compared to a typical WCHA schedule. Just look at Miami's losses in the past month or so and look how they strugged with a very flat Ohio State team... In my opinion, Miami is very over-rated...and we'll see just that in the NCAA tourney.

Regarding Air Force...we're down several guys and that's gonna hurt down the stretch for us. Losing Hajner and Sellers is real tough. Definately need our younger guys to continue to step up!
