Adrian vs SNC @ 'The Stone'

Re: Adrian vs SNC @ 'The Stone'

I was in attendance with some other UW-Stout students in section B last night. If you saw the only sign in the arena, then you saw my group.

Adrian has some great forwards up front and their goaltender Fogal played solid. Had Fogal not played well this game could have been out of hand by the end of the second with SNC scoring six or seven goals on that 1st/2nd period run.

Adrian's defense looked outmatched. They had trouble breaking out of the zone and were turning it over to SNC players both in the corners and neutral zone. The SNC forecheck was just too much at times for Adrian. As mentioned above, Adrian was sending a wing through the center of the ice and SNC was ready for it. I can't count how many times SNC picked off passes in the lanes and turned it around the other way, often right at center ice.

Adrian's special teams were great. SNC's powerplay was not tight at all and Adrian applied ample pressure shorthanded to thwart any chance to score. Their PK was rock solid.

Overall... Adrian played a hard-fought game and I respect their 3rd period effort to stop the 'buzzing' of SNC and grind out a chance to win. Overall SNC was the better team 5v5 and overall just looked more solid. SNC had plenty of chances to bury the puck. Puck's were bouncing, just a step too late etc. Many "OOOooooooo" - "so close" moments for SNC through out the game. To echo an earlier post about it being not SNC's best game in recent weeks I'd have to agree. Had they been 'clicking' as they have been through out the last month, it could have been a 6,7,8 goal game for SNC.

Great game and well worth the 4-hour drive in pea soup fog. Go SNC!

but where did you eat?

but where did you eat?

We ended up at Jersey's Sports Bar & Italian Grill. Little dive bar + restaurant on George st. It's the normal hangout for our DA chairman alum that now lives in DePere. I did offer up the suggestions from the USCHO crowd to him but he insisted on Jersey's. :D I was not disappointed in the least.

We got a 60 wing bucket for $20, (awesome deal) A combo sauce of garlic, hot sauce and a touch a honey made for an amazing flavor. I heard their menu is fantastic, especially their pizza.

We had to do wings as it's a Wednesday tradition at UW-Stout. Every Wednesday multiple places in Menomonie offer up ridiculously cheap wings that are just awesome. Some places even offer up all you can eat for $8 with a side of Texas toast. It's not an exaggeration to say half of our student body goes out on Wednesday's for wings. It's a Stout thing.

If you love dive bars with cheap drinks and awesome food, I think Jersey's fits the bill very well. I would be a return customer, no questions asked.
