Adrian College Gripefest

Re: Adrian College Gripefest

Very well stated and the right perspective. As I stated on other similar threads before, to me it's appalling that insiders post inside info and lambaste the programs or the people that run it.

i am sorry who are you?

Re: Adrian College Gripefest

First, I really hope they get a better coach over all, mentor, teacher, friend, parent and coach. Because that is what a coach is.

Second, a coach like a friend, parent, teacher, mentor can ruin a persons love for some thing. To think other wise is like living in a cave secluded from the outside world.

Third, many of the greats have made there coaches think outside the box with their play, comments and questions. They have even forced them to make tough decisions, some good, some bad.

Fourth, one can only hope the former coach learns from this, because if I have learned anything from watching sports. The coach is going to get another chance.

Fifth, the saddest part of all of this is not the comments, but the fact how many young girls lost the chance of playing the last of their competitive hockey... that I feel bad for.

thank you :) very well said!

I'm OnMAA. A longtime contributor on this board, well known by many vets on this board. Been involved in the women's game for a long time at various levels and capacities, and have two D's that played the game at the college level. My record on this board stands on it's own merit. You appear to be new on this forum, so take the time to learn proper etiquette, and stay away from personal attacks.

Read some of OnMaa's posts he's actually someone who knows Womens hockey and respected for his views.

Re: Adrian College Gripefest

I attacked Kempson? Apparently they didn't teach you reading comprehension at Adrian.

I think reading comprehension is the least of their worries right now. They're so rattled right now they don't know who to argue with.
It seemed to me like you were giving Kempson a compliment. But hey, what do I know. The Adrian people know everything about their team.
Kempson was good for the most part during their last game, until she started taking pims. I thought she was the only real threat on the ice, but thats only my opinion.
I'm sure dogwatcher will correct me on this, because it doesn't coincide with his stat pad from the stands. Let me guess, you were the guy with the stop watch timing the shifts or were you the guy keeping the plus/minus.

They are going at 54F now too on the other thread because he misquoted something. Maybe they should re-read his posts. Hey girls, he seemed to be on your side.
Now that I think about it, re-take that reading class in the fall. Instead of trying to figure out your breakout during class you should really pay attention in class. I have a feeling you're going to need that education.

Honestly, I hope you guys find a better coach, someone that you're happy with and finish out your remaining playing days the right way.
See you guys in January when you come back to Rochester. Hopefully by then things have turned around for you all.
Good luck.

Why didn't you guys transfer if it was so bad?

This is a pretty good question I think. I assume it isn't always the easiest thing to find a spot on a different roster in a place where the player wants to be. Obviously that's going to be a real challenge for the number of players that were apparently extremely unhappy. But I'd say under circumstances where total disillusionment is widespread, it's (transferring) a legit avenue to pursue preferable to staying in a bad situation and maybe easier...or less stressful with less aggravation than trying to force the institution into a change of staff. With ultimately, hopefully better results for the players. Just a thought on when a transfer may be the better option.

Haha and we all know who you are? I actually am pretty sure I do.

RITfan...I would also think it would be hard to transfer from Adrian if you want to stay in MI...where most of their players are from...your only other option is Finlandia and who really wants to go there

Re: Adrian College Gripefest

read between the lines you said what you said.
why would kempson be the person that stood out to you most at the RIT game?

Because you were there best player....stick around awhile and you will realize that you don't need to read between the lines with me. I pretty much say it how it is.

For many the coach was the only problem. The team itself is very close. The school is fantastic and extremely accommodating in all the various major programs. There was many more positives to stay that their were positives to leave for many. Though do not get me wrong there are plenty of players who have transferred out of the school, and even more who just quit the team and finished school.

I wish for the very best results for the players under these circumstances. I hope later in life it's not too rude an awakening when / if they have a boss that sucks major and they realize they won't have any success undermining that boss and don't get to campaign for a new one. I can assure you there are many bosses, company owners and people in upper management that can suck the life right out of you while actually being completely incompetent themselves. In most cases your only option is to leave.

Re: Adrian College Gripefest

Believe me when I say this. I truly wish the very best for all the girls still playing or that have transferred away from Adrian. My post was only meant to not have a person post a team letter. I feel strongly all players associated with this program will be all right and become very successful in life.

Re: Adrian College Gripefest

Awww all this niceness and sincerity on the woman's board.....I hoope that Adrian sucks next year LOL
