Adrian 2011-12: The Next Generation

Re: Adrian 2011-12: The Next Generation

I agree, and had hoped as an overall conference we would have moved the needle more in our favour.
Unfortunately the MCHA schedule that our teams have played thusfar haven't prepared our best to play their best in these games. I believe we are heading in the right direction, but we need a higher and broader level competitive balance within the MCHA to contend in these N/C games.

Re: Adrian 2011-12: The Next Generation

Make no mistake about it, Adrian was outplayed this past weekend. They are still a young team learning how to play with each other. They bring lots of skills to the ice but they all haven't learned their role on the ice and how to play together. It will come in time. Hopefully this year. LOL. Eau-Claire and St. Thomas did a great job in stopping AC from getting anything going. They both deserve their wins.

It still was frustrating to not even have the offcial talk to the goal judge about the goal. Oh well, life goes on and so does Bulldog hockey.

GO DOGS

Keep the faith....SNC is also experiencing similar 'growing pains' with 11 new faces on the roster this season.

Re: Adrian 2011-12: The Next Generation

Is anyone getting either the audio or video live from the Bulldogs game tonight?

What about any live stats?

If so is there a different link then the one listed on the AC website?

That's what I've used tonight. It's been spotty, as I missed most of the 2nd period.

Audio only, from what I've been able to come up with.

Other than the fact that the announcer cannot pronounce Cousineau to save his shorts, they're doing nice work there tonight.

They're at 2nd intermission now, so you're not going to get anything at the moment.

Re: Adrian 2011-12: The Next Generation

Zach Wilson with the tentative hat trick. The first goals of his collegiate career.

Absolutely awesome.

Re: Adrian 2011-12: The Next Generation

Adrian takes a pair of 3-2 wins over Lawrence and will head to Marian with the outright conference lead. A bit chippy this weekend, but I'll happily take it.

I have the feeling that we're going to see that team again....

If there is, I haven't heard of it yet.

Re: Adrian 2011-12: The Next Generation

A solid road trip to Fond du Lac results in a sweep of Marian who had not lost in MCHA action.
Sets up a great showdown with MSOE at Arrington this weekend.

Interesting to see today's USCHO poll elevated the Bulldogs from #9 to #6, while the D3 Hockey pollsters have their reservations and consider Adrian #15. With all remaining games in conference I don't expect much will change in either poll.

Just win boys !

Re: Adrian 2011-12: The Next Generation

I think today's win is bigger than some realize. This put us 5 ahead of Marian and 4 up on MSOE. If Adrian comes away with anything at all this coming weekend a 5th straight regular season title is all but assured.

Re: Adrian 2011-12: The Next Generation

Are there any on-going efforts for Adrian to get-in on some of the Winter Classic action next year?

They played in the Big House last year when they had the Big Chill between Michigan and Michigan State.

I believe a little over 1,000 was the reported attendance in a 110,000 seat stadium.

Re: Adrian 2011-12: The Next Generation

We had about 1400 or so, off the top of my head. The attendance was disappointing, but the event was certainly not.

Agreed. The event is something you'll never forgot and once in a lifetime esque...

The Fenway game Norwich just played in was great. Little chaotic from my end with some things, but still a lot of fun.

We had a reported attendance of 7250...I'm not sure there was quite that many in there...But still a great crowd and unless someone else comes up with a different number, we currently believe that's the largest crowd to have ever witnessed a D-III hockey game.

The Adrian game at the big chill was certainly the largest number of empty chairs ever to have witnessed a DIII hockey game. :D (That's just for fun, it was still a neat thing that they got to do it)

Re: Adrian 2011-12: The Next Generation

Just curious ... why a Monday afternoon game today?
It appeared that there was a scheduling conflict for the big ice sheet from Jan. 20 - Jan. 22, due to an adult no check tournament.
The local Wi. senior mens team (Fond du Lac Bears) also played Sat nite (the 21st) on the big sheet.
Apparently, both events had more clout than Marian did in securing ice time.
I know that the Bears draw good size crowds for their games.
Marian crowds are normally in the 100-150 range. Too bad since this is a decent hockey program now.
