Sad news to report about baby Kollin. I just received a text from Andrew that Kollin has passed. Today at their appointment they were unable to find a heartbeat and an ultrasound confirmed it. Please keep Andrew, Jenica and baby Kollin in your thoughts.

Baby Kollin did get a chance to go to a LSSU Laker hockey game while in utero though. Andrew was happy to have that moment. Im sure baby Kollin was kicking with joy when the Lakers scored.

Very sorry to hear. (actually crying, but there isn't a crying face) My thoughts go out to your friends during this very very difficult time.

On a happier note, our first grandchild, Michael James Murray, was born last night. 7 lbs, 9 oz, 20 inches long. Mom and baby doing well.

Congratulations! (Just a quick note, he's the same size I was when I was born and I never got taller than 5'3", so maybe you'll have a Gerbe, but I'm doubting a Boyle )

That is very sad news. They are in my prayers. A close friend of mine and his wife lost their baby about a year ago, at about 7 months pregnant, and it was a real tough thing for them. In their case it turned out the baby was very active and got tangled up with the umbilical cord around its neck and choked. Very sad.

On my side of things, a longtime friend of my wife's was just diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer. She had had breast cancer surgery last year and seemed to be on the mend and everything was getting better, when this hit.

Kollin was born into heaven this morning at 1:33am. They had a naming/blessing ceramony for him after Jenica had a chance to rest.

THis is so sad to see for the parents. My thoughts and prayers are with them and all who are/were involved. No matter how you prepare it is gut-wrenching when it happens.

Here is a story written for the local newspaper about the whole ordeal that Andrew and Jenica have experienced.

Today is the funeral. It will be a long tough day. I know that both of them have had a lot of trouble sleeping the past few nights.

Thank you for sharing that. "Unthinkable" is an understatement but they sound like they're strong and will be able to heal in time. I'm not sure I could have made it through something like that.

Here is the obituary that was printed in Flint (Andrew's hometown). It has some info on memorials, but not much. If I can find more definitive info I will post it. Also I was wrong, today is a viewing and the burial is tomorrow.

There is also a facebook page for a benefit that the EMS service that Jenica works for will be putting on. They mention memorials as well to the Teachers Credit Union.

So interesting night. Sitting at a friends house and suddenly hear someone say "Holy %&$*". There was a grass/brush fire across the road that had burned probably a football field or two worth of grass/brush and was approaching the neighboors house.We ran over there and grabbed shovels and what not to start beating back the fire. It got really close to a garage, shed and barn but we managed to keep it away until the 2 fire departments showed up and helped us get the rest put out and contained. The chief of one township said he called the other department because he felt it was very close to getting out of hand. Now Im on a bit of an adrenaline high. My back also hurts (from crouching and swinging a trench shovel) and I have a bit of a cough but it was nice to be able to help someone save some property. Good vibes offered to my friends (one had a cut from some barb wire trying to move around the barn and went to the hospital to get it checked out) and the neighboor who thankfully suffered no loss of property. Also to all the firemen and women who showed up (most of them volunteers).

Edit: My friends who went to the hospital to get some cuts from barb wire checked out are ok. None were quite bad enough to require stiches. But they did get some tetanus shots to be safe. And apparently they are having the same couging fits Ive been having. Though mine are starting to go away (about 3 hours later).

Thanks to everyone for the prayers, thoughts, and everything, Jenica and I really do appreciate it. Also my thoughts and prayers to everyone as well that's posted their requests. I've been following this thread since I saw Proud said on his facebook that he had started a thread and mentioned my wife and I on it. I wanted to post something sooner, but took a little while for my username to be accepted and whatnot, seem to have forgot my last name.

Again thank you, it means a great deal, and is appreciated from the USCHO community and everyone else.
