Dunno, but they have a huge job ahead of them. After last time when multiple people turned them down, is the coach the only thing that needs to change?

It's a different AD in place now. At least he was swift in his decision-making. I would imagine he has a plan, including a list of potential candidates to work from.
The previous AD's shortcomings & the timing of the last search were contributing factors to the debacle.

Wow, a UMass thread! Are a couple of their fans finally coming out of the cave over there on that hoops message board hockey thread?
Maybe we'll finally see some Notre Dame fans around here at some point soon too.

I find it interesting that the ND is finally having its best season in Hockey East and there is no thread for them this year. The sky was falling for them last year. Hopefully they are still lurking.
As far as Umass goes, they might be better off hiring someone with HC experience this time around, maybe even someone coming up from D-III like Bazin did.

Notre Dame had a presence here in the past but zero this season. I think I saw something in a thread this year that they were all ticked about the way they were supposedly being treated on the boards so they just decided to not play here. Someone should start a thread for them and see what happens! We could talk about their PC-incorrect Irish caricature mascot, Rudy, why they're in Hockey East when they're in the midwest, Lowell's dominance of them since they joined the league, stuff like that.
In terms of UMass fans being absent around here, they used to have a lot several years ago but have gone "poof." However you can find several refugees over on the hilarious UMass Hoops hockey forum here as they whine and complain about how the "flagship" campus isn't respected and how Lowell eats their lunch every season. The Fear the Triangle blog though is a good read (had a great piece earlier this season on Boyle's success since being dumped by them).

Did Micheletto just complete his initial 4 year contract? If so, he might have had a tough time recruiting this year. The administration seems to be committed to elevating their hockey program to a high level. They did struggle finding a candidate last time. It will be interesting to see who they hire.

Perhaps Notre Dame has their own sports message board like Northeastern's "Diehard Dogs" or Cornell's "Big Red" board.

Yes- that would be a good career move for red, a pay raise as well.
Have you seen Schenectedy?
From Springfield, scholarship school, great facilities, system supports big time, Hockey East on and on.

I've seen more of Schenectady than I want. The points you mention are legit, although he's in a pretty good situation there thanks to 2014.
