It's that time again. The USCHO Nerds league is open for business and accepting registrations. It's been fun and competitive every year. The defending champions are Minnetonka Menace, who defeated the Creampuffs in the finals.

It's a 16-team league, head-to-head format. Registration is first-come, first serve.

Draft date is slated for Monday, March 28, 10:00 p.m. EST. I'll send reminders through this thread periodically.

In as "Flood Plains Of NDak" until I can decide on a better name.

Re: 9th annual USCHO Fantasy Baseball League

Sounds like a good league. I've been wanting to do a "fun" league but didn't want to join some random league where half the people don't care and quit halfway through.

I think this is my 3rd/4th year or so, and it is a fun league. My personal thing with baseball is that I'm more of a fan when in a league (and I only join "fun" leagues), and I keep my interest in said leagues because I kinda like baseball. They both feed each other, I guess you could say.

I don't recall any "dead" teams, but I don't pay THAT close attention to who's changing their lineups on a regular basis.

Re: 9th annual USCHO Fantasy Baseball League

I'm on the fence about joining again this year. I should know in a couple days if the Creampuffs will return.

Re: 9th annual USCHO Fantasy Baseball League

I'm in again. Didn't have time to think of a name, so I just went with "insert team name" for now.

Re: 9th annual USCHO Fantasy Baseball League

Thinking about joining. Depends of if the leagues I have been a part of for years are continuing or worth while to join.

Re: 9th annual USCHO Fantasy Baseball League

Typically, there are a couple of "dead" teams by midseason. Last season, everyone was managing to the end.

I added "on-base percentage" as the eighth offensive category, just because I think it's a good stat. To keep it even on the pitching side, I added total innings pitched because it was the next-best available option. If enough people hate it, I'm open to eliminating them.

Re: 9th annual USCHO Fantasy Baseball League

A few years back, it was a way to keep owners from hoarding closers. Now, setup men are part of every rotation and paid quite well. I think it keeps good balance with our pitchers.

Re: 9th annual USCHO Fantasy Baseball League

I'll reserve my spot, though I'm not entirely sure if I'll do it. I'm in as the Inebriated Tigers.

I change my lineup every day, I'm just really bad at it.

In, with an homage to my favorite teams' head coach. ;)
