I think this year, we all have to wait to the end when this team will have it all together.

I still believe, Regular season title is in reach. If not, the Broadmoor is coming to Houghton......

Go Huskies, the team will be peaking by the end of the year.

From the Mel game preview video, Blacklock in for Boeing. Davis in for Birks.

Yep, I am hanging onto this belief as well. Losing last year's seniors was big, these guys are still figuring out, and when they do...look out.

Hate making the comparison, especially this early, but...06-07 Michigan State comes to mind. Pretty good early, then a bit of a slump, won GLI convincingly, good in January/early Feb., slump in late Feb and limped into conference playoffs. After that point, they were lights out from March all the way to the national championship, with the exception of a CCHA tournament title loss to Michigan.

Not saying that's in Tech's cards this year, but peaking late is still very much a possibility, especially once they get past their nasty January schedule of hosting Mankato, then traveling to Bowling Green.

Has anything been released yet?

Nope, and they haven't talked about in MPS yet.

I saw Tristan Rostagno, Thomas Beretta, and Gavin Gould signed.

Also expect Carver Watson, Jake Gingell, and Jagger Williamson to sign.

Mitch Reinke, Cooper Watson, Mitch Newsome, Chris Gerrie, and Angus Redmond have already signed.

UPDATE: Mel said that they got everything back they expected but since these guys have signed now, they plan on including video/audio interviews with recruits in the release so it will take a little time, compared to normal.

Well the team finally put up some goals on Saturday night, but if you had looked at the schedule in September and predicted three points in four games vs UAA and LSSU no one would have deemed that acceptable. That was a very disappointing conference stretch.

Some perspective: Being angry about being 3rd in the conference and only being able to make the NCAA's if we win the WCHA tournament, which is not out of the question, is a nice change of pace.

That certainly is true. Expectations are high and the next 8 games will go a long way towards determining whether MTU will have to win the tournament to get in, or not...

Tech, in general has played better around GLI time of year and into the 2nd half especially when they won GLI. It seemed to give them the boost the rest of the way. Hope it happens again this year.

It looks like we have another commit, Raymond Brice from Houghton, playing in the NAHL.

‏@NAHLTitans Congratulations to our very own Ray Brice on his commitment to Michigan Tech!

‏@NAHLTitans Brice currently is currently tied for 2nd on the team with 11 goals in addition to 10 assists for 21 total points!

Don't forget to keep pumping in those All-Star votes for Scott throughout the month of December so he can be the Pacific division team captain. He is currently the #1 overall vote recipient in the league half way through the voting. Tough guys need love too... https://allstarvote.nhl.com/

If you really need a reason to vote for him, then check out his latest video, which is top notch in my opinion.

FYI - You can vote up to 10 times per day and feel free to add Kero to your ballot in the Central division. He currently ranks around #250 so let's see if we can get him into the top 200 anyway.

Did you notice that the intro for the hockey games has Dirk calling John Scott's name and it sounds like they spliced a goal call just after. I saw him score a few, so maybe it's a legit call. Kero went back to Rockford, so I don't know if he's eligible but I still vote for him 10 times a day.

Short article on Raymond Brice to Tech.

http://www.hockeynewsnorth.com/ncaa/raymond-brice-to-michigan-tech/

Raymond Brice to Michigan Tech

Houghton native Raymond Brice will realize a dream of playing for his hometown Michigan Tech Huskies of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.

Brice, a 1995 birth-year winger, has confirmed his commitment to play for Michigan Tech effective the 2016-2017 season.

A 6-foot, 185-pound speedster known for his hustle, heart and relentless effort, Brice spent the 2014-2015 season with the Soo Eagles when they were members of the North American Hockey League.

He now plays for the New Jersey Titans of the NAHL and has 11 goals, 10 assists, 21 points in 26 games thus far this season.

While guesting on ESPN 1400 Radio’s Hockey North Show last season, the likeable Brice said it was his dream to one day play in his hometown for Michigan Tech.

Well, in this case, a dream is about to come true.

I think its an obvious add based on that description and probably the limited amount of $ spent on him to potentially be the next Blake Hietala, Patrick Anderson, or even better.

I think he's at least a Hietala to-be.

GLI is one week away.

One guarantee - there won't be any competition in the band department (like there ever is). The Big Ten schools will have alumni bands if anything considering their current bands will be at bowl games, and who knows if NMU will bring their band.

I'm dreaming of a UP battle for the MacInnes Cup.

That would be great. I'd say though that the U of M alumni band is pretty good.
