If you want 6% unemployment, all you have to do is change which unemployment measure you use. If you use the same one that was used in the 2000's, we'd still be double digit.

Never, the 1% are all Rs, Wall Street would never vote D and Ds would never groove laws to help the 1%. Just look at the wealthiest folks in the US, they are all Rs. Plus you just to remember to say Koch Brothers

Well, we don't know how they voted...secret ballot and all ;)

As for who they supported in the election, most of Wall Street supported Republicans, but they spread the money around so the big firms were aligned with both parties so they were covered no matter who won. Why do you think so many Democrats supported the CitiBank giveaway? As I've said before, if the original (non-astroturfed) versions of the Occupy and Tea Party movements looked at their agenda, they'd see many of the same bullet points.

So when Wall Street buys a Republican, it's because the Republican is bad, but when Wall Street buys a Democrat, it's because Wall Street is bad. Do I have that right?

No. Tories and Democrats are good and bad irrespective of Wall Street (or any other) money. It's the influence said money buys that is the problem.

I really like that I get a $0.09/gallon discount because the car dealership I used this past spring has a deal with the Super America chain here in the Twin Cities. It was nice eight months ago, it's even better now. :)

George Soros, Tom Steyer, the Kennedy's, Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, the Google guys, most of the Hollywood elite, CitiBank, Sony (they might be changing their minds after getting thrown under the bus) and on and on.

Remember when Chrysler/Dodge did the $2.99 gas guarantee back in 2008? Wonder if they tried to hold the people to that...

Um, I bought my last truck in 2008 and got that deal. I don't think you understand how it worked. First of all, it was only for about 3 years, that you get that price, and second, if the price went below 2.99, you could just not use the gas card they gave you and get the price at the pump.

I like the Wesco (West Michigan gas chain) Rewards program. Buy stuff in the store, you get X cents off on gas. Swipe your Rewards card at the pump, and however many cents you've accumulated, that's how much you save.

$2.229 in my neck of the woods today. I enjoyed seeing that. Thank you both, Saudis and recessing Euro economy.

About $30/tank here, give or take. Add to that my short commute to work (7 miles one way) and I'm loving this. About the only nitpick I have is that because of my zipcode, it's about a nickel more right by my place compared to the same company station near my work.

Maybe the west side of the NC, and I'm not sure if that's the reservation in Hogansburg or not. East side (Plattsburgh, SL, et al) is still $3. My area is the second cheapest in the state (only to the Cattaragus reservation between Buffalo and Jamestown which refuses to pay state taxes), and we're not even getting to 2.50.
