Re: #4 Cornell vs. #1 Michigan - NCAA Midwest Regional

Great game Cornell and great game Michigan! That's some good hockey, certainly keeps you on the edge of your seat!

Master sandbagger! Well done. Or, don't ever go to Vegas.
I take it you don't know how many 3rd period leads Cornell has blown this year that ended in a tie or loss? Me either, but it's around 10, IIRC (out of a 29 game season).

Where's that dude that started a thread about how everyone should bow down to the CCHA when you need him?

When was the last time that two ECAC teams won in the first round of the NCAAs? It's not unprecedented, but it's been a while.

Cornell's Three Stars of the Game:

3d -- Sean Collins (2 assists)
2d -- Andy Iles
1st -- Roger Craig GWG.

Technically, never. The last time two ECAC teams won at least one game was 1996, when both Clarkson and Vermont won, but UVM had a bye through the First Round that year. (Cornell came within a millimeter of making it three members winning that year).

Actually technically, when the tournament only had four teams (my era), the semi-finals were the first round. Several times ECAC (both the old ECAC and the current ECAC members) teams won both semi-finals:

1978 -- BU & BC
1972 -- BU & Cornell
1970 -- Cornell & Clarkson
1967 -- Cornell & BU
1949 -- BC & Dartmouth
