#4 BC vs. #1 Wisconsin - NCAA Semis: BadgerBadgerBadgerBadger... MUSHROOM, MUSHROOM!

I'll leave the combatants/spin doctors with this little nugget to add fuel to the fire:
"It will be quite easy for BC to avoid the upset this year". :D
Well, that's the general consensus, but shhhh, we don't want to jinx it!

By the way, I'm doing a Q&A with UW's Chuck Schwartz between his blog & BCInterruption. Hoping to have it up tomorrow night.

Loving that I get to bring attention to the sport at least a little bit :D

Look, I think we're going to have to agree to disagree. I presented you with my facts....

 Grant, with all due respect, I think you should just admit your "facts" were just opinions! (so-and-so is better than so-and-so because I say so!).

Look if mine were opinions, so were yours. You're throwing out games between NoDak and UVM as proof the WCHA is better and cherry picking ratings systems. Let's be real here and realize neither of us is going to persuade the other.

Much respect to you as well, of course.

3) North Dakota v. Boston University: This is the Terriers and it's not even close (barf)
6) Bemidji v. New Hampshire: Not the New Hampshire of old, but this is still WHEA's point.

At the risk of taking seriously something that I shouldn't . . .

Wisconsin played both North Dakota and BU. UND took the Badgers to overtime twice. BU, uhm, didn't.

Minnesota played both Bemidji and New Hampshire. The Gophers scored 17 against UNH in two games and 11 against BSU in four, and the Beavers actually won a game. BSU also swept two from Maine, who you claim would beat a team that finished higher in the WCHA than Bemidji did.

The #4 team in the WCHA split with the #2 team in WHEA.

BU over UND I'll give you, if BU is healthy. For the rest of the top six, you're swimming upstream against some significant actual game results to favor WHEA. With the bottom teams, it's anyone's guess, though I would rather watch Mankato than St. Cloud. The Mavericks were capable of games in which they beat some pretty good teams. They were also capable of dropping two at home to St. Cloud, so it's kind of a lottery ticket.

Sometimes it helps to know if you're tuned to Comedy Central rather than the Science Channel.

BU over UND I'll give you, if BU is healthy.
But since you're speaking seriously, I wouldn't concede that one so quickly. They've met in the opening weekend two years in a row and split both times. I'm guessing that was as close to healthy as BU was this season.

I could be wrong but I believe Poutine was out to start this season... not positive though.
#29 played in both games versus UND, and was out after that.

I was under the impression that she actually got injured in the 2nd UND game (in my mind :D, she was taken out by the Lams, but I am completely making that up!)

Anyone think Kinger deserves coach of the year?
You could make a good case for her. The problem she may run into is that you could make a good case for at least four other teams doing better than expected, including two in her own league (RMU, SLU, NU, Maine). BC always seems to be a little under appreciated, given they have three wins and three one-goal losses in the NCAAs, yet we always think they are going t lose.

HA! See, I'm not the only one who thinks they are hacks!

I'm sure it will be an urban legend in 10 years: "Then they ran over her with the zamboni while she was down on the ice, backed it up, and ran over her again!!!"

And I've got the photo to prove it!

When I hear the term "hack" to describe a hockey player I think of someone without much skill who plays dirty or at least cheap in an effort to make up for their lack of skill. That would not accurately describe either of the Lams who obviously have all kinds of skill -they are each in the Top 5 nationally in scoring. They may be overly "aggressive" at times but I don't think the term "hack" is appropriate for either of them.
