# 3 - This is where Utica belongs - not #8 !!!

Please, let me handle this.......

That would be this team. It was Adrian's second year in D-III hockey and their league, MCHA, did not have an autobid. At that time the MCHA and the ECAC-West were elegible for a Pool B bid, which went to teams from leagues which did not have an autobid. An ECAC-West team always got that bid. The addition of Adrian and Concordia (Wis) in 2007-2008 to the MCHA, as the 7th and 8th teams in the league, started the clock on the MCHA getting an autobid. In 2009-2010 the MCHA got an autobid and Pool B went away.
Not quite. The MASCAC saved Pool B for 2 years until they got the AQ last season. Pool B went away last season but will come back next year with the WIAC & ECAC-W fighting it out.

Re: # 3 - This is where Utica belongs - not #8 !!!

Well, I knew that Pool B still existed this year with 0 bids, but I am glad you explained it cause I didn't want to go into the gory details.

Utica has done well against tough teams, yes. But they keep losing to easy teams. They lost to Elmira and got SHUT OUT by Neumann AND Cortland. If Utica is a top team, they should not lose games to these easy opponents. That's why their USCHO ranking is hurting.

Yes but don't forget in the NCAA rankings....The losses to Cortland and Elmira won't show up in the record vs. NCAA ranked teams making Utica pretty darn near untouchable in that category.

They have a 7-2 record against likely NCAA ranked teams and they have two more games with Manhattanville for a chance to make that record even better.

Should Utica do well this weekend, I've got a feeling they will be in great shape for those first NCAA rankings.

And you should have read the posts that some of their fans made. Some of them were reasonable and some of them sounded a lot like some fans of this years "most underrated" team.

One of ours went nanners. Maybe two.

I'll always wonder how that team would have done. *shrug* Different topic for a different day.
