Re: 2nd Term Part VIII - The Thin Red Line

I totally read the headline as "McConnell Convicted" *jaw dropped*

Then I stopped being stupid.

Re: 2nd Term Part VIII - The Thin Red Line

Next up, Rick Perry. Can someone tell me how a guy who's been in elected office the last 30 years is a multi-millionaire?

Re: 2nd Term Part VIII - The Thin Red Line

He gets something right off the bat from the GOP Secretary of State who is also on the GOP Senator's campaign committee.

By the time this is done, Katherine Harris is going to look classy and competent by comparison.

I have to imagine the law is reasonably clear on this. Either he can drop out on that date or he can't. Expedite a court decision and call it a day.

Isn't that something that could be asked of a large number of politicians out there on the national scene?

Re: 2nd Term Part VIII - The Thin Red Line

He's dead, but Teddy?
John Kerry?
Was - John Corrine
Mike Bloomberg?
Billary

Teddy = Family money
Kerry = Married his money
Bloomberg = started billion dollar company
Corrine (Corzine?) = Wall St exec
Billary = Book/speaking fees like most ex-Presidents.

Perry is a lifelong pol. Yes he's amassed millions. How?

Clown, it all depends. The laws in some states are too loose so that donors can line the pockets of governors directly. Despite the blatant corruption in the Gov McDonnell case some legal beagles were saying nothing in VA law prevented him from taking the money (obviously the jury disagreed).

Look, this goes for Dems too. Show me one that's served for three decades and become a multi-millionaire DURING their time in office and I'd ask the same questions.

Wow, contrast that to up here where the Lt. Gov, a Republican, signed an emergency order allowing the Independent to choose his new running mate (granted, there was already precedence for it).
