2nd Term Part IX - How Lame is my Duck

Re: 2nd Term Part IX - How Lame is my Duck

Yes, corporate America is just quaking in their boots at the Mighty Dodd-Frank Act. It's so fortunate for them that the few regulators that oversee their transactions used to work in the office down the hall.

Again, kindly post a link where Dodd-Frank and its regulators are underfunded/understaffed. Having worked in the industry affected by Dodd-Frank, I can speak from experience as to its effectiveness or lack thereof. Posting random accusations without anything to back them up is Flaggy's job!

Re: 2nd Term Part IX - How Lame is my Duck

Rover spends too much time listening to Barney Frank...he sounds like he write his press releases. I mean Frank honestly believes that Hillary is not in bed with Wall Street

Funny you should mention that. I can't stand Barney Frank and never could. He was my congressman for a time before I moved away to college and he was the most useless rep for constituent services you'd ever meet. He didn't even live in the state, using his sister's house as his residence, and you'd see him in the district pretty much once in the weeks before the election and that was it. Good luck getting him to help you out with a problem as well. Frank's reputation skyrocketed when all of the true heavyweights in the Massachusetts delegation (O'Neil, Moakley, Conte, etc) retired and he was the last one left with any seniority (along with now Senator Ed Markey, who was/is also useless). Everyone in Mass rode Ted Kennedy's coattails on constituent services. I personally think if Lizzy Warren hadn't been involved heavily in Dodd-Frank,you wouldn't have gotten a bill given who the two sponsors are.

Having said that, Kep has acknowledged an error in linking Obama with Bush which is good. Regarding Hillary, I noticed you all are skipping over Warren giving her props (as well as Chuck Schumer!). I hope this doesn't diminish her halo in your eyes.

Re: 2nd Term Part IX - How Lame is my Duck

Did you see him on Bill Maher too? He was falling over himself insisting that Hillary is a financial reform hawk and I was shocked by that, because Barney is a very sharp guy (look at the way he just eviscerated C. J. Cupp, who is no genius but is an excellent rhetoritician -- a sort of hot Tucker Carlson). Actually, if you watch the show, the who last episode was excellent -- good topics and the first panel I can remember where nobody was a moron (plus it was really funny to watch Cupp all but spread herself on the desk for Zachary Quinto -- I mean if a girl ever looked at me like that I'd die, but happy).

I assume Frank doesn't believe it and was just being a good soldier, since he knows Hillary is the nominee and like Rover he is very concerned about managing her image. Which after 8 years of Dubya I can kinda understand, actually. Never again.
Doesn't ZQ play for the other team?

For a guy pitching unity of Dems, you're pretty quick on the draw to slag anybody not panting for Her Majesty.

We get it, we need a united front. But that's a two-way street Mr. DLC. If you want liberals to stop slamming moderates, be a good example and stop slamming liberals. The nominee will need all of us to keep the orcs at bay.

Both the Democrats and the Establishment GOP seem to be starting to push their "my way or the highway" means, at least that's what I've been seeing for the past decade or so from both sides. Biggest difference is that your side is nothing but sheeple pacified by the government media complex, while the "dissenters" on the right have brains.

Yes I did...he is like that every time he is on the show. One time he said at least 10 times "The War in Iraq which I didnt vote for..." before I just muted it whenever he talked. (which was often because he loves the sound of his own voice)

I like Cupp personally, I dont always agree with her but what she says about the problems within the GOP especially in the upcoming primaries is on point. She doesnt pull the usual move of just backing the frontrunner because they havent screwed up yet. (like the Faux crowd did after every primary last go round and did with Palin in '08...the geniuses, especially the ones on Real Time that were friends with Bill, were guaranteeing Palin would be the First Woman President) If she is on with Maher right before the election she will be the one saying the GOP will lose long before even the lefty guests will.

Something about Quinto bugs me...cant quite figure it out.

He was extremely creepy as Sylar in the early days before the Heroes writing team took stupid pills. Enough so I remember thinking, "if that dude's my waiter, I just quietly get up and leave the restaurant."

I thought he was great on the panel. He didn't come across as someone who thinks his opinion has any weight just because he's a performer. (Unlike Bill.)

The water guy was a riot. I'd like to be his friend.

Wait a minute, the knucks' are always telling me I'm the biggest flaming liberal out here. Now I'm a DLC guy??? I'm confused.

For the record, I like Howard Dean's approach to things - liberal but pragmatic about winning elections. Had Obama not stupidly turfed him in favor of people like Tom Daschle and Rahm Emmanuel, the Democratic party would be in much better shape in down ballot races right now. Here's hoping he gets a bigger role in the next administration.

From where the knucks stand, John Tyndall was a liberal. After all, the NSM has the word "socialist" in it. ;)

Re: 2nd Term Part IX - How Lame is my Duck

Like I said, she's no genius.

Cupp was probably testing the gay thing. Is he gay or just playing one in Hollywood to get some good gigs? Is it a choice or truly birth? Let's find out together, friends.

For the record, I'd let Cupp reject me good and hard.

I agree with this 100%.

Me too. I believe I may have said as much to DMK. She hasn't looked at me like that since I admitted I'd do the same with Megyn Kelly. The heart wants what it wants.

Dean pretty much turfed himself nationally ever since that howl he let out during his primaries victory speech back in 08.

Not at all; he was a great guy behind the scenes.

The story of "the howl" is pretty funny (unless you're Dean). Basically the mic configuration cut all the ambient noise and made him sound about 3000x louder than appropriate, and the rest is history. Nobody actually at the event thought anything about it until the late slots ran the isolated audio.
