Re: 2nd Term Part IX - How Lame is my Duck

You cant choose to be black, gay people choose to be gay. And of course being gay is wrong cause God (he who loves all his children) hates fags.

Get it now ;)

The other twist on that I keep hearing is that God may have made you gay, but it's a test he gave you to not act upon those sinful impulses in order to travel within His light. If you're acting upon your impulses, you're failing God. Who wants to associate with a failure?

That is a very good point...now they can just claim that civil rights are for winners! Praise Yahweh!!

Re: 2nd Term Part IX - How Lame is my Duck

Hutchinson reverses himself, now says he won't sign AR law. I wonder why...

You don't screw with Wal-Mart, baby! This is a very interesting clash between social issues Republicans and Corporate Republicans. Generally GOP Inc. gets its way as they supply the $$$. However, all GOP Presidential candidates have now come out in favor of bigotry in the name of religion. Fascinating but not a good sign for conservatives if you can't even pass anti-gay legislation in Arkansas without your paymasters kicking up a fuss. :D

The corporate cons usually stay in the background and cut the deals with the pols who then fellate the theocons to get the votes. The only other time I remember there being such a public clash was TARP.

Of course the corporate cons are going to get their way. They've been screwing the rubes for decades with one hand while the other plays the culture war violin to get power. We might be seeing the first very vague hint that the corporate cons have now consolidated so much power in both parties they think they don't even need the rubes anymore. After all, if it doesn't matter to them whether Romney or Obama gets elected since both will do their bidding...

Pork projects and frivolent social spending has to be funded somehow. These corporate entities pay a majority of the taxes (13% of a watermelon is still better than 39.6% of a grape). Of course they'll get what they want. Without them, no revenue.

He had another powerful lobbyist feeding him advice...

You were doing fine until you went loony left with your last sentence. I'm sure corporate America is thrilled with the Dodd-Frank act, pushed for by the O.

Yes, corporate America is just quaking in their boots at the Mighty Dodd-Frank Act. It's so fortunate for them that the few regulators that oversee their transactions used to work in the office down the hall.

You are right, they are not the same. Hence one of the many reasons I can't see voting R again in my lifetime. I should not have used equivalency.

On the banksters and the financial industry in general, the Republicans get an F and the Dems get a D. But that is a reason to prefer the Dems, point taken.

Rover spends too much time listening to Barney Frank...he sounds like he write his press releases. I mean Frank honestly believes that Hillary is not in bed with Wall Street

Did you see him on Bill Maher too? He was falling over himself insisting that Hillary is a financial reform hawk and I was shocked by that, because Barney is a very sharp guy (look at the way he just eviscerated C. J. Cupp, who is no genius but is an excellent rhetoritician -- a sort of hot Tucker Carlson). Actually, if you watch the show, the who last episode was excellent -- good topics and the first panel I can remember where nobody was a moron (plus it was really funny to watch Cupp all but spread herself on the desk for Zachary Quinto -- I mean if a girl ever looked at me like that I'd die, but happy).

I assume Frank doesn't believe it and was just being a good soldier, since he knows Hillary is the nominee and like Rover he is very concerned about managing her image. Which after 8 years of Dubya I can kinda understand, actually. Never again.

If we want to elect someone who isn't in with Wall Street, Bernie and Elizabeth are our only options.

Indian's bill is going to lead to slavery.

Don't worry, Pio/Bill are on the case.

Somebody's on the market solution.

While a small part of our nation will praise these proud and loving Christians for their willingness to <strike>openly hate a large segment of the population</strike> stand up for their Christian values, the rest of us are baffled at the stupidity displayed by these pathetically hateful individuals.

Swiftly, The Internet took to the company’s Facebook and Yelp pages to leave a series of scathing and, in many cases, hilarious, reviews.

“Being gay is not a choice, however, being a disgusting bigot certainly is,” one reviewer wrote on Yelp. “Shame on this establishment! I hope it goes out of business.”

“Whenever I’m in this hick town and I want to cram 12 inches of sausage or beef down my throat, I go to Memories Pizza,” another wrote.

But one genius outdid everyone when he or she apparently bought up the Memories Pizza domain name. Some will undoubtedly claim it was hacked, but memoriespizza.com does not appear to have existed until April Fools Day. A WHOIS lookup reveals that the web site was created on April 1, 2015, and is registered through GoDaddy.

This amazing web site for the disgraced pizza place advertises that it is the “Home of the dick pizza!” — something that the owners of Memories may find hard to swallow.
