2nd Term Part IX - How Lame is my Duck

Following me again I see. Even when I stay away for awhile and them come back, he finds me. Took him ten minutes though. He's slipping.

Bob, I understand if you don't want to confront me directly since it has to be tough to engage in a battle of wits when you're unarmed.

But I'm not going to stop posting in the political threads, so deal with it.

About half of what you said here doesn't really apply to the world the way you're making it sound. Like you said just yesterday, read comments to the YouTube video FlagDude linked, and you'll see that bigotry is alive and well. It's merely changed in how it's expressed in modern culture. Also, I can tell you that me stating I'm an atheist in America these days won't get me lynched, beheaded or worse, but it won't endear me to many people either. Meanwhile in certain areas of the world we very well could suffer such fates. The vast majority of the world's population still believes in some sort of deity or another, and that includes our own nation. We do get queer looks when stating our atheism, and you living near the Bible Belt should note that much more than I ever would, unless you've learn to blind yourself to it.

Even in America, much of it still operates with older world views, it's just become more sophisticated, and yet at the same time more cowardly, in those expressions. People express them anonymously through messageboards and comments sections rather than shooting them in the streets, directly to a person's face.

Wasn't there a poll that basically found a dark skinned gay Muslim has a better shot of being elected than an atheist?

People don't particularly care which God you believe in, but you better believe in one if you want to be elected to anything

If my best friend and I decide to go to Indianapolis for the 500 and share a hotel room to cut down on costs, is it right that the hotel owner can decide we must be gay so they won't rent us a room?

I vaguely remember something to that effect, but couldn't tell you how long ago that poll was taken.

An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth is alive and well, and then some. These people still don't grasp that the dominant culture in this country is now quite anti-Christian.

Who can forget that string of 44 consecutive non-Christian presidents?

The "dominant culture" in this country is commercial, and has been since the onset of the consumer economy in the late 19th century. It is no more "anti-Christian" than it is "anti-Hindi" or "anti-intellectual." Our dominant culture is anti- nothing, it's just pro-commerce, pro-capitalism, pro-free enterprise. Your enemy isn't me -- we have the same enemy, the reduction of everything to commerce. If it's any consolation, we are both going out together, because the enemy of depth isn't a different depth, it's shallowness, and the market will always worship shallowness.

What has Athens or Jerusalem to do with Las Vegas?

It's their establishment, and they can do what they want. Go to another hotel down the road and give them your business. The first hotel just lost out on revenue because he let morals and emotion get in the way of business.

Obama was born a Muslim. Hence why there's an Islamic prayer curtain in the background of his press conferences instead of the American flag.

Yes, because that's what's happening.

You guys project so much you should work in movies.

If that's what you want to call "taking your opponent's game plan and throwing it back into their face", so be it. I would have thought, out of anyone, you would be willing to help break the cycle, be tolerant but not accepting of all views, and let everything flow naturally. Guess I was wrong, and maybe you still seek vindication.

It's Memorial Day Weekend, the 500 is going on and every other hotel room in the area is booked solid. This is the only hotel room available and I booked it six months in advance.

Now imagine I'm black. Or Christian. Or Chinese. Still OK?

Never mind.

And... it's an act.

I was burned once before, assuming Pio was an act (it's not -- he's in deadly earnest), but there is no way Flag is anything other than the highest class of trolls. You had me going, sir. I salute you.

What exactly is an Islamic prayer curtain? It seems like the term itself was made up entirely to describe the gold curtain in the East Room the every president in the last few decades has appeared in front of at one time or another.

No, they don't. You can't have a whites only restaurant, movie theatre, or school. I believe this was settled 50 years ago if you're having trouble keeping up.

And I thought Opie lived too far in the past....

You cant choose to be black, gay people choose to be gay. And of course being gay is wrong cause God (he who loves all his children) hates fags.

Get it now ;)

No longer being allowed to punch a guy in the face who your daddy was allowed to punch in the face is not "oppression."

Bob still playing a martyr? Love it. I've had him on ignore for months. I know you continue to give him slack for some reason, but I can't do it.

I also put Col. Flag on ignore (he's just as crazy as that iconic MASH character) at least a year ago. He's not worth it

If I came from the planet Bob comes from, I'd be Bob. I (think I) understand him completely, and I like him. I'd let him babysit my kids.

He thinks differently, but he thinks; he feels differently, but he feels.
