Re: 2nd Term Part 4: Donkeys, Elephants, and Porcupines

Fair enough as well. I can agree, there has never been a candidate that I agree with on all of their positions. I try to pick the lesser of the two evils, sometimes that is just impossible to do though. I have been an independent since my first time voting in 1986. I am no fan of either party and personnaly think our political system is so broken, it can never be fixed.

It could be fixed, but it has to go up against 2.5 billion rounds. ;)

Did it ever occur to you that I might not vote straight ticket and actually vote based upon the issues?

Plus, Carter was worse. And so is Obummer.

You would have no personal recollection of Carter at your age. Much like I don't remember Nixon. So, confining ourselves to Presidencies we've lived through and can recall (so in Opie's case stretching back to William Henry Harrison :D), Bush is far and away the worst President. Whoever comes in second would have to hop on a plane in order catch up to GWB's level of failure. Carter's problem was an inability to react to the problems going on around him, most of which he inherited (second OPEC embargo, decline in manufacturing). Bush actively caused the major failures of his Presidency (Iraq, deficit explosion, etc).

What I laugh about though is every election Republicans want to run against Jimmy Carter, a man who left office 32 years ago. A good portion of the electorate, as in anybody younger than 45, can't even remember his whole term in office. Yet GWB is a far worse President who left office 4 years ago and conservatives pretend like he never existed even though the last two GOP Presidential candidates have run on his exact platform!

With every Democrat, it's never that person's fault, but always the fault of the person before him, eh? The loonies have no sense of accountability.

You forgot palookavillepost.com and its story that appeared to be a horribly uncreative and unfunny attempt at satire.

Fair enough. When people try to refute something because of somewhere it was written instead of the actual content, it shows to fascist trolling nature. It's just like when Chris Matthews tried to refute Rick Santelli by who he voted for in 2008.

Yes, I'm a Fascist  Do you even realize the things you are writing?

Look, I can register a website and put my paranoid fantasies on there and start posting it here. Doesn't make it true or reputable.

Oh my. If you can't hit this one out of the park Flaggy, you need to turn in your internet debate team card. It's so easy it's almost embarrassing. :p

He promised he was ignoring me!

Re: 2nd Term Part 4: Donkeys, Elephants, and Porcupines

quoth the Raven, "Never more."

FreshFish, you don't want to take this one either? Priceless just said, "Look, I can register a website and put my paranoid fantasies on there and start posting it here. Doesn't make it true or reputable." I'm trying to quit being an *******, but this is making my trigger finger itch.

Re: 2nd Term Part 4: Donkeys, Elephants, and Porcupines

good thing I quoted it then.

Thank goodness.

Here's a novel idea: Why don't you actually make the joke yourself rather than egging on other posters to do it?

I already did, but it was kind of subtle. I'm trying to quit being an outright jerk to everyone.

Why would I want to talk about Priceless trying to get himself banned for posting links to German scheiße videos?
