2028 Elections: "If you can keep it."

I was all in with Pete in 20 but he was probably a little too young. Not sure how a gay man would/will do in a national election but... I'm all in again in 28 if ......................there is a country left.

It hardly matters. We could run Christ Himself and the Nazis and Fox would smear him, and their dolts would lap it up.

Last time I brought up Pete regarding races in Michigan, I think Handy was very down on him having much of a serious future in the party, but I am not quite ready to write him off yet. Cynical me does think he's making certain calculations like suddenly growing a salt-and-pepper beard in an obvious bid to look less baby-faced (hey, Lincoln did it too, but so did Ted Cruz ;) ).

LMFAO,

It doesn't matter who they run. The election is not happening.
Hence the title.

Though, in all events, there will be an "election." There are elections in Russia and the PRC. It's a question of whether it will be real.

Let them eat cake
Allow me to ruin this.

Although the phrase is conventionally attributed to Marie Antoinette, there is no evidence that she ever uttered it, and it is now generally regarded as a journalistic cliché. The phrase can actually be traced back to Jean-Jacques Rousseau's Confessions in 1765, 24 years prior to the French Revolution, and when Antoinette was nine years old and had never been to France. The phrase was not attributed to Antoinette until decades after her death.
...
Fraser also points out in her biography that Marie Antoinette was a generous patron of charity and moved by the plight of the poor when it was brought to her attention, thus making the statement out of character for her. This makes it even more unlikely that Marie Antoinette ever said the phrase.

A second consideration is that there were no actual famines during the reign of Louis XVI and only two incidents of serious bread shortages, the first in April–May 1775, a few weeks before the king's coronation on 11 June 1775, and the second in 1788, the year before the French Revolution. The 1775 shortages led to a series of riots that took place in northern, eastern and western France, known at the time as the Flour War (guerre des farines). Letters from Marie Antoinette to her family in Austria at this time reveal an attitude largely contrary to the spirit of Let them eat brioche:
It is quite certain that in seeing the people who treat us so well despite their own misfortune, we are more obliged than ever to work hard for their happiness. The King seems to understand this truth.
My girl's been done wrong.

In the years before the French Revolution, other nobles basically ran a non-stop smear campaign against Marie Antoinette as she was Austrian and Austria (or anything Hapsburg) had been one of the historical enemies of France until the Diplomatic Revolution a couple of decades earlier. This led to a vehement dislike of Marie Antoinette by the general public on the eve of the revolution, and would ironically come back on the entire monarchy and nobility once the Revolution got going, even though this aspect of it was largely started within the nobility itself.

I like Pete but I know that he is seen by a lot of the Left as a corporatist and untrustworthy on certain issues due to things in his past. It is also quite obvious he is very calculating (for example, the beard) which just seems kind of sketchy.

Also, and it sucks this even needs to be mentioned but, he is friggin boring. I personally love listening to him talk because he can speak to pretty much all issues but our society is so lazy and ADHD brained thanks to our phones that he will get run over by anyone with charisma.

If we want any chance it has to be someone undeniable, and I just don't think "The Honorable Gentleman from Kinsey" will be that person...not in this timeline.

I think we have a large number of voters who have to feel 'inspired' to bother voting  - this is why Chump brings out other angry, shrimp-dicked white men. On that point you are right that Pete isn't 2028 material and against Trump he likely goes down like Dukakis. The problem is that if you're looking for a left-wing Dump, the party has no charismatic bomb throwers who are ready to go. Bernie is too old. AOC is too young and, unfortunately, has the wrong anatomy.

Right wing men are not okay.

I wish I was in her district to vote for her next year. God damn has she come out of the gates swinging with an original ground game. This is what the Democrats need.
"Thot" is Modern Standard Incelese for, "Woman who wouldn't give me the time of day".

I'd ask who this UKIP tosser is because I've never heard of him, but who gives a fuck? Let's just call him Ben Shapiro Gone Bloke.
